• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

The name "GT Line" actually makes sense because it will probably have the same exterior design features as the GT Sport, but with the powertain of the EX. That's exactly what I was hoping they would offer.

I understand the lowest trim base model has different headlights than the rest, although I've only ever seen one video of them. Do you happen to know what exterior features are different between the trims aside from that? Are the taillights any different? Are the front brake vents only chrome on the upper trims or all of them?

Hi Tazztattoo. I to have ordered the GT in Chroma blue with the red napa leather. Where in Australia are you based.

I ordered mine the same DEEP CHROMA BLUE, but with Black Interior.

^According to this survey (see pages 11-12), the GT Line would include darker finish grill surround, larger bumper vent, larger wheel design, darker finish side vent, darker finish mirror and window surround, lower rear bumper vent, and lower rear bumper grill pattern.

For the interior: Nappa leather, flat-bottom sport steering wheel with GT emblem, metal finish on center console and doors, metallic pedals and footrest, door scuff plate, and driver seat air chambers that adjust lumbar and side bolster support.

Hi Richard,

I'm in Perth, what about your self?

You may have already seen some or all of these videos (links below) that highlight our chosen colours . The chroma blue is almost purple under bright light which I'm unsure about how that will contrast the red leather but wont pass judgement on until seeing it in the flesh:

I've always been a fan of the red Mercedes AMG interior with aviation style air vents hence why I was immediately drawn to the Stinger

And the Maserati Gran Turismo has also had obvious inspiration on Kia

With fuel Economy (3.3GT) what do you guys think, about say in 2, 3 4 years time?
Not knowing exactly what it is new, for City driving, urban & Combined.
I am hoping this car is going to last me for a fair few years, I am in my mid 50s and currently no car, previous car bought in 96 and got rid of it last month. Mitsubishi Lancer MR.
No ENGINE/Mechanical problem what soever! WOW, I wish they make cars like that!
Yes, quite a step up for me. Hoping I could negotiate the ORC (dealer side of things)....

Hi Sting,

these are the fuel specs for the rear wheel drive 3.3GT from the Korean brochure, so "combined" consumption is over 10 liters per 100km if I am reading this correctly which I'm very happy with. I think this could be considered normal consumption for any ordinary 6 cylinder car and the stinger certainly is not ordinary.

I think by the looks of that fuel consumption its 8.3 highway 10.7 city for 9.2 average which would be amazing

It's 11.2L/100km combined. Nothing special but not bad. Real world probably 15L.

That is in km/l format...in Australia our normal convention is l/100km.
I agree with skyguy, fuel (GT v6) consumption will be average.
It's perhaps the singular front they don't yet compete (with higher end makes) on a high level with just yet...

When you look at some of the Euro pricing.........wow! The Aussie stinger prices come up as a bit of a bargain. 100k euros for the top variant!!!

It may well be a dead set bargain, still not as much as they initially said it would be.

European pricing is loaded up with tax based on co2 and other bits and pieces.

Had a chat to Kia dealership owner today and he stated that they were expecting a stinger for test drives in the next 2 weeks. He was very confident that this was going to happen but he was not sure of what engine size or what configuration the car would be. They are just finishing off a new showroom for Kia,s to be placed in. He stated that there was going to be a VIP opening and the Stinger was going to be there. He also stated that as I had ordered a stinger I would be on the guest list. As I am in Tasmania I would expect that the big Island would have one before us, so keep a eye out for any test drive info.

@richard Same deal with me, when i placed $ down back in January, same talk about Kia Event here in Melbourne, VIP etc, but havent heard a peep from my dealer, and i seem to be the one enquiring on updates, not the other way round, us early adopters are the ones driving marketing here, let us know Kia! were excited!

MUST see videos of the Aussie stinger with the dimodal exhaust on the Wheels mag web site with very good review. Go to the bottom of the page to find the video. Site address is

HELPPPPP!!!

Hi all, anyone here in AUSTRALIA (NSW) who could assist me in getting the right REGO PLate (PERSONALISED PLATES).

Ordered a Stinger GT with DEEP CHROMA BLUE, but the colours seem to vary and unable to see if I can get a matching rego plate.
See the chosen ones in colour (Not my rego, lol)!

Would love to hear your opinion or suggestions.
