• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
...those NZ badging names work for me. Well done Kia NZ.

And here is me thinking we were getting charged to much. Seeing the kiwi and Aussie dollars are near parity

Visited my kia dealer a today to see if there was any knew news. Still has no information on arrival dates for test drive or ordered cars. He believes the pipes are already priced in at the $59990 pricing as he can't find any information about options and still can't tell me if my blue paint job will cost me more. While I was there the dealer ship boss came over to show me the new GT sorento as it has similar colour seats as I have ordered. He was quite shocked when I asked him if the updated model would be in Australia by October. He stated that there was no new model and he had just picked up this car in Melbourne 2 days ago.He also told me that when he was picking up the car in Melbourne he met the Kia Australia boss who told him this was the 2018 model. I then got out my IPad went to Korean kia web site and showed me the 2018 updated model. The look on his face was priceless. It does worrying me that these guys who are selling these cars have no F#####g idea what's going on in the real world. If I brought this car and then found out that the updated model was only a couple of months away I would be really pissed off.

Really? You don't think it's completely odd and confusing that you can get a version with the 2.0T that still says GT on it? I thought that was the entire point of the GT badge. I'm in America but it'd be pretty odd to see a Mustang here with a GT badge that had their 4cyl instead of the V8.

It's all about marketing and selling cars. So you get a "GT-Line" which has all the show but without the full go. Good selling point. I do like that "GT-Sport" name/badge they applied to the top V6 model, had not seen that one before.
BTW, Iv'e seen ecoboost (4cyl) mustangs here "upgraded" with GT badges. Bit odd. In the end, we should all car less for badges, it's about the drive, right?

I'm all for people modifying their cars to suite their personality, but when they're just sticking something on to try to lie to people that they bought something more powerful or expensive than what they actually bought... well I guess that does say a lot about their personality. I'm certainly no stranger to seeing C5 Corvette's that people glued fake rear brake vents on to try to convince people they have a Z06, and it just seems sad. The only thing weird here is that Kia is doing it from the factory, and only in one specific market? You make a good point that it's good marketing to upsell the EX people to a GT Line because it says GT so you get that hint of top end badging, but alternately would they lose sales from otherwise GT sport buyers just getting a GT line if they didn't care that much about performance? I'm in USA so I'm used to a lot of people who choose BMW and Mercedes models solely on the model number (higher is better!) and don't actually know or care how much power it has or even what RWD is.

It really is surprising hey how misinformed or cagey they can be. It is not in their best interest to sell you something coming later, I suppose.
My dealer claimed to have no idea about this "stinger exhaust" at all. Anyway I can't see how it is the 59990 list price. It will be a $2-3k option I reckon. I was hoping preorder-ers would get it thrown in as a bonus! Still might too.
All the best I hope you get the one you're after.

Hi Richard,
I too have also pre-ordered the GT in dark chroma blue (would have preferred the panthera metal if this spec offered it) and have read that there will be a price premium for the blue although my dealer also can not confirm. I've opted for the red nappa leather, how about yourself?
I don't expect Kia will include the pipes considering they will not be a from factory fit and will be a third party/local product.

With fuel Economy (3.3GT) what do you guys think, about say in 2, 3 4 years time?
Not knowing exactly what it is new, for City driving, urban & Combined.
I am hoping this car is going to last me for a fair few years, I am in my mid 50s and currently no car, previous car bought in 96 and got rid of it last month. Mitsubishi Lancer MR.
No ENGINE/Mechanical problem what soever! WOW, I wish they make cars like that!
Yes, quite a step up for me. Hoping I could negotiate the ORC (dealer side of things)....

They're not trying to mislead anyone. Who buys a car solely based on the arbitrary letters in the badge? lol...If that person exists, they deserve to be misled.

The name "GT Line" actually makes sense because it will probably have the same exterior design features as the GT Sport, but with the powertain of the EX. That's exactly what I was hoping they would offer.

Translate page if you need to !
The comparisons seem to be just horsepower-per-euro, without factoring-in actual performance, and also keeping vague on options/equipment. From the last paragraph (translated):

"The Stinger is therefore expensive in all cases, although we must admit that prices for BMW, Audi and Volkswagen can be raped thanks to the options. The Stinger is still a strong offer, as almost all the bells and bells are standard."
