EK1Pro Tune - Sixth Element

Looks great and stable!

Q:
- Do you have unlocked stock ECU with timing and high fuel pressure adjusted? Stage 2?
- Is also torque limit unlocked?
- So with that you still use JB4 to manage tunes?
- How did you unlock ECU and did you flash it with EK1 bye yourself? Or is it possible to put timing and other files into ECU by JB4?

Also tell us about the 0,4 bar launch, seem so right to have a launch that stays at that boost.
Back end flash with stock boost control so yes JB4 is doing all the boost controlling jobs. Throttle closure at redline definitely needs more adjustment to fix that, I can see it happens at launching in the summer if it’s torque limiter related. Extra timing is huge power gain and it’s crazy how early it peaks, so no need to being crazy making your boost curve flat with map6. A 17 taping to psi boost curve destroyed my lozic 1.5 bar tune at 60-130. And for the next revision I’m asking for less timing cut at shifting so that’s another 0.2s off expected.
All the tuning is via ek1, all that you need to do is to patch it then you can read the ecu and send the tune to your tuner for further adjustment on his side. This flash map seems hates me to adjust afr via JB4 that’s why I asked Nathan to adjust it for the next revision.

For the ecu launch even if I get it back from them I will still have hard time test it due to the winter weather.

Also be mindful that my current back end flash is already several versions behind Christian from 3.3fb group. His latest backend flash achieves similar 60-130 result as lap3 stage 2.5 when at same boost level (the newest revision I asked is basically his setting anyway)

Here is the update you guys looking for. This the the backend flash and the boost is controlled by JB4. Apparently 600cc nozzle is not enough for this amount of timing and boost. A new revision with richer afr and ECU 0.4 bar launch+disable TCU launch should be coming soon. Unfortunately my cat is clogged by Lozic bubble tune(code disabled with his tune so I have no idea when does that happened until I switched to sxth). I’m having hard time adding boost with JB4(map5 peak at 18-17psi after gear change should be an obvious evidence).Luckily it’s just clogged with carbon buildup and it’s cleanable with off the shelf cat cleaners or even just xylene. I’m currently running -2 psi across the map than yesterday while having 2 psi higher boost. It should be clear that those cleaners are working it’s magic.
Why do you want to run lower AFR than 12 like it seem to be in log? Gdi engines will make most power at 12,5:1 so 12 seems very right if you run Meth or E85

christian is also running like 22 degrees of timing with 22 lbs of boost which is INSANE and thats exactly how he stretched his head studs the first time

Q is if the power really did increase from the last 2-4 degrees of timing. There is always a stop where you dont get more power. Problem with our Stingers is a lot of backpressure due to small turbines.
More timing and more E85 makes exhaust cooler and less denser so its good for less backpressure, gives you more power at same boost if timing is up . The thing is to see where you dont get more power with more timing and then back of 1-2 degrees. Also for knocks, risk increase with more heat.
Also to notice is that knocksounds can change with more E85 and sometimes knocktable needs an adjustments to tolerate the extra sound that not is knock but still lower timing. Hope the Stinger tuners testing this.

I have heard that 2020 have an updated engine. Anyone knows if it has to do with headgasket and headstuds?

Some spikes after gear change seems to be at 13.1 and as high as 13.4 like 2-3 and occasionally 3-4. Just wanted to make them below 13 all the time. If it doesn’t matter that much then I’m not bothering

I’m running way lower boost for sure

Ok, so it seems sixth tunes still need work. Will wait it out i guess

Dont think there is any benefit pressning so hard for so little. 20 psi, a good timing and fuel is probably best for 99% of us

I think there is only minor tweaks left. EK1 system has it benefit making it easy to put in updates. No need to send ECU back and fort.

Nobody has any updates or review?

How is the tune, dyno etc etc etc.
Tune is solid. I ran a 10.96 with Meth last year, and the first track trip this year with CPI was 11.1. I've got a tiny bit to dial in but I'm hoping to be the first guy to hit 10's with both Meth and CPI in the same car with Sxth. The EK1 is a game changer, I have several tunes I can load in under 5 minutes. Though it can be used for logging and gauges, I kept the JB for that function, and use the EK1 to flash both my ECU and TCU.
Last tidbit... Terry from Burger MS is now creating and testing his own tune. He and Sxth will both create files you can download and flash with the same EK1 or EK lite.

I use 1-2 bottles of fuel cleaners every time I change my oil. GDI engines, (especially Hyundai/Kia/Genesis vehicles) always have carbon build up issues regardless of being tuned or stock.

Good to know. Same if you run just E85?

I use it regardless of which fuel I'm running at the time. Race gas, E85, ,93, doesn't matter I use it. Another thing to note is pour it in with a empty tank of gas and then fill up afterwards. Empty tank is not always an option when changing my oil, which is why I will sometimes use a 2nd bottle.

It's preventative maintenance and it's cheap.

Ok, good!

This is all well and good, except the biggest problem is the back side of the intake valves, in a GDI engine, fuel system cleaners do nothing for this.

Thats why I run CPI and E85.

Maybe not, but this addresses issues of carbon buildup around injectors. That's pretty important..........and it's cheap as hell.

Will jb4 still be needed to control CPI or can the Ek devices or rather tunes from Sxth or Burger handle that in place? I wouldn’t mind getting rid of my jb4 for some more money towards these new tunes.

JB4 Map4 with SXTH BEF. Gear shift timing revised. The car is smooth. Need bigger nozzle for real.9E02DA60-6C92-4594-8281-3C10861567D0.png

JB4 will be essential no matter what.
