• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

@Nujee Rang my dealer in Caroline......

Thanks for the update mate. Yea well i guess we all just wait. It's nuts because usually this level of info is released a fair bit in advance. Just does this is a company that is still finding its feet when it comes to managing highly desirable product.

The Wheels magazine website states that the Kia Stinger embargo ends on Friday and the launch date is the 1st October so we should have all the info we want on Friday. They also state that the bimodal exhaust will be a dealer fit option and hopefully be ready by the 1st of October but no word on price.

God I hope so. It feels like so long ago I put my deposit down thinking Q3 is not that far away (February at the time) , now at the end of Q3 it does not feel like we will really get it then .

This shows lack of exp from the company. I know they have built an excellent product but the car in this sense is incomplete as the noise element is important to the target market. They have shown great initiative in the local market for including it but given the car is not what one would call cheap.... the exhaust really should be included rather than being an optional extra. I think the kia/Hyundai group will get to this maturity level as time goes on but the cost of this lesson of not including a decent exhaust from the get go should have been absorbed by the company. Just my 2 cents.

By the way...i have a feeling we will be getting the yellow in Australia. In one of the photos from car advice's facebook page you can see the reflection of a yellow stinger on one of the chrome side view mirrors. Wil try and link the photo later. They were in Canberra for that shoot so i think they wouldn't just bring a yellow car here without intent of offering it.

Nujee I think yellow was always an option in Aussie. There appears to be no deep chroma blue in the photos from Wheels mag.

While its nice to have a bold colour like the yellow (I used to have a 2004 Mitsi Verada GTV that was yellow!!), from everything I have read....the Deep Chroma Blue seems to be a very popular colour as well so hopefully we can get it in Aussie. I know a few people have said they have ordered it so heres hoping they dont cull it. I personally think that Blue is the best colour for this car, or second option- Graphite (greyish) with Red interior and red brakes!!!

OK, Here's the Bi Modal in oz ready for so called 1st OCTOBER RELEASE!!

Also, got my final price $65250 driveaway.

Hmmmmm..

confirmed mine with DEEP CHROMA BLUE , Model nO and MY18 registration
Trim - Matching with Black Leather.

Is there an attachment missing from your post? Also, happy with the price? I think its probably 2-3k too exp.

Hi Nujee, Sting is getting a great price unless you know something the rest of us don't? I've been told by 2 dealers anyone ordering one now will pay at least $68k (probably closer to $69k with metallic paint) and that's without the optional exhaust..... I understand dealers are honouring the estimates given when cars were "pre-ordered" months ago. I'm lucky enough to be one of those people. $65,990 driveaway inc metallic paint.

Did your dealers confirm the price? And is that including the optional exauhast?

Umm, which price? I know a number of people who have been quoted $68,800 (+/- $100) and a NSW dealer (I'm in Vic) quoted me that over the phone yesterday. And yes, I have written confirmation of my price without the exhaust (they apparently still don't know [as of 3 days ago] the price/fitting details).

Directly from my victorian dealer however the NSW guy told me from now on KIA was taking over the comms as the wait had blown out (order now - get it in Feb at the earliest) and that they would only process orders for confirmed deals because the demand is so high. They're also building the US and european cars right now and they were also worried dealers in Aus would order cars for ghost purchasers to have "stock".......straight from a sales managers mouth.

Hi All.
I just signed up at this forum today. very exciting times as we get closer to the Stinger release!
With regards to preordering, i also recieved a price in the $65500 range back in August (not including exhaust).
I hope to bargain a little further down.
My order is for December 2017 but have not heard any update from dealer yet. hopefully in the next week some good news, maybe earlier release haha

Ha, I was told $56,990 back in May which has become $65,990 with taxes and on-roads. Was seriously pi$$ed off till I found out I was still $3k under rrp. I wish you luck bargaining the price down - i understand theres a queue of people prepared to take your place in the queue!!;)

I'm really appreciative of all of you who have posted your drive away prices as it gives me an indication of where we should be.

With all the correspondence I've had with my dealer to date I still haven't received a final price yet.
He has said back in August after the RRP was announced that Kia Australia may offer a 'launch offer' or a 'Drive away offer' so he'll wait till they receive their internal pricing lists, invoice costs and dealer incentives as to not prematurely lead me astray. The only price indication he gave me is too high to mention as he thought back then that the GST may be on top of the RRP. He still hasn't confirmed either way but all the pricing you guys have received at the very least shows that the RRP is inclusive of GST and at the very most the Drive Away price should be around the $65-66k without any additional incentives or offers, well at least for the early birds.
As the media embargo ends at midnight tonight I'm hoping to hear from him tomorrow and get some info set in stone.
I consider myself a patient man but after waiting 9 months and being so close to release my patience is slowly withering.

Yep, they've done an appalling job of managing the customer expectations....I mean seriously, how frigging hard is it to work out the price of a car and publish it?
