You can definitely run as fast as full tune with backend but you have to ask for more timing like I do. That 17 deg one for sale wouldn’t do the Job. Also EWG is must have when adding high rpm boost.

If I get a backend flash with increased timing, does that mean I always need to be running meth?
What I want to achieve is to run equivalent to map1 or 2 on the jb4 with no meth, and only run meth when at the track, which I do by going to map7 on the jb4.
As far as I know, the ECU can’t know directly what map the jb4 is set to, so how can it adapt? It certainly can know if in sport mode, but this doesn’t correlate to the map I want.

With BEF you basically want ECU to adapt nothing and run at set AFR and timing no matter what. You’re using JB4 as boost controller based on your current octane level so. You can just run map0+93 if meth is out. Map0 alone with that much timing will be noticeable more powerful than stock tune anyway.

You also can take off power With Map 8 in JB4 as it lower boost under stock level

So when I want to run with meth I can pick map 1-4 with jb4 set to drive meth on maps other than 7, or I suppose map 7 which gives me safeties.
What timing would you suggest if all I can get is 91? (Damn California gas)

Just stay with the 17deg map then. California 91 is very sad. Map7 really seems essential for California 91 since knock would be a real problem.

He could get the higher timing on California 91 for his meth map.
 
Hopefully it’s fine with 20. I’m just chickened out by ACN91.
I would be as well without the meth. California 91 is actually better gas than my New england 93, so he should be fine.

I have my ek1lite on order should get it in a week or two. Once I get it, I just message them to ask for a BEF with 20 deg timing?
What all did you pay for it. The standard BEF was $250 on the web site.

Have you guys run at a strip with the tune? If so, what was your et?
So far a couple weeks ago here I ran 11.76 at 118 with my BMS WMI on map 7

11.66 @119 on map5, 2500DA.
 
Also I don’t have EWG wires so you can imagine how turbos spool slower than yours makes me launch weaker. I have a revision coming on Monday to make it absolutely flawless and EWG wires, 2580 chip and BM12 nozzle coming on Thursday. Should be able to run way faster after these things are installed.

Yeah, I’m launching around 2600 rpm and 6 psi boost, makes a huge difference.

Compare your log with mine. You can probably see how much slower I build the boost.IMG_6879.png
Also here is Lozic 1.5. You can see how much faster the boost creeps up comparing with JB4 without EWG.

The crazy thing is a slow JB4 launch like that is not even any slower than my lozic 1.5, big power coming from timing for sure.

Your 1st and 2nd gear have more boost while boost builds faster too. I guess EWG is 100 needed for me.

Pretty easy install, might need to move intakes out of the way for best access
