Very standard response from a Car company.
They only care if you're a top shelf customer ( buy a new top end car from them every 3-5 years ).
When it comes to discs and pads, you have almost no chance !

Buy a decent set of discs and pads and move on ( is my advice ).
If your pads are still good you 'could' just buy discs.

I found them to be quite reasonable compared to the EBC floating rotors I got for the front, REAR DBA 4000 T3's only $171.85ea. + FREE shipping and NO TAX. EBC's for the front was almost 2.5x the price of the DBA rears ($804 delivered for the set)...and that was a really good price for them compared to anyone else. I noticed the seller raised the price $100 for the set after I purchased mine and even that was lower than everyone else!

Good pricing, you should be happy with dba performance, they are great quality.

Has anyone also used the Hawk HPS 5.0 pads? How are you liking those?

I've been (largely fruitlessly) searching for rotors and pads to upgrade from the crap OEM pieces that warped after a few thousand miles. DBA looks like the best to be at this point.

All experiences and opinions with this setup are gratefully appreciated.

Not sure if you read this thread FAQ: Vibration under braking: warped rotors? NO! but your rotors probably aren't warped. It's most likely uneven deposits which makes it feel like the rotors are warped. It all depends on how you drive. In any case, you'd either need to resurface the OEM rotors and get better pads or just say screw it and replace both regardless.

I've had the DBA Rotots installed for 6 months now and really liking them. I went with the DBA XP Performance Pads. Havent had any issues of pad material sticking to the rotors and braking has significantly improved over OEM. This combo def holds up to the heat with heavy braking. Yes they are pricy but i would say it was worth the investment.

I did read the thread, and posted several times in it. In my case it was warped rotors. The vibration started around 4,000 miles, and progressively got worse. I tried the 'fix' suggested in the thread and it made the pulsation/vibration worse.

I took it to the dealer at 9,000 miles. All 4 rotors were measured in 4 different spots. The front rotors had a run out from 29.8 mm down to 28.6 - warped a non-trivial 1.2 mm. They were both resurfaced, right front down to 28.4 and left front down to 28.3. Both rear rotors were fine, within spec.

The brakes perform fine now, though the pedal feel is noticeably softer, with a little more travel before the brakes bite. My driving is normal street, I don't beat on the car (I'm 60-something). Given how quickly they warped, I don't think the resurfacing is going to be a magic cure. So, I plan to replace them.
