dba Brake Rotors

@Stinger GT SS ... very nice setup, I plan to do something similar maybe this summer. Got a question for you...based upon your pictures and not related to brakes. You have the adjustable endlinks with the Eibachs... is your car lowered? I ask because I've got the eibachs with the stock end links and stock height. Whenever I go through dips or rough road I feel something not right, as if something is hitting. I was told by a mechanic that is could be a bad shock, but had KIA look at it and they said it's all good. As a matter of fact they couldn't duplicate the problem. I'm thinking maybe it's the stock endlinks that aren't giving me the right "movement"? Is that a thing you think maybe?
I have the OE stock springs, IMO the car is low enough & I’m also happy with the ride quality either in comfort or sport.
With your noise issue have you had the endlink connection bolts check to ensure all are tightened/torque correctly?

Picked up my new front pads today to go with my new front rotors.
Just waiting now for rear rotors & pads to be released before going in for the full change out.

What did you pay for fronts ?...did the price include pads ..cheers

You should be able to get the front rotors for $275-$285 each inc. GST & no pads are extra.

I was thinking that same...the ride height is good for all things. When I first noticed the issues (8+ months ago) I had the original installer check to make sure everything was tightened. They said all was good. It's just annoying in that I know there is something not completely right, but I'm not sure what it is. For some reason I think it's the angle of something or, as you said, somethings not tight enough. I'll probably jack it up and double check the bolts myself.

Do you have bigger aftermarket wheels & tyres, if so it could be hitting/rubbing inside the wheel well.

I've changed the rubber, but they are the Conti's (Extreme Contact DWS06's)... same measurements as the stocks. Maybe it's just me and the rubber band tires.

Well if you had it inspected & just monitor it, make sure it doesn’t get worse & try to isolate where the noise is actually coming from.

It’s official, dba have now listed all items on their website.

Finally got some shots in good light with the wheels on.

Just thought I would share my thoughts on DBA XP pads
I was experiencing the massive shuddering of the front brakes which is very typical of the standard OEM pads, after suggestions from some I decided to try the DBA XP pads in the front, I can confirm now after about a month of running around I see no disadvantage to these pads. First off the most important thing all shuddering has now disappeared, I find these pads to be quiet in operation, produce little dust, they are a bit more aggressive on initial feel which is not necessarily a bad thing, and I find them economical in cost
In summary I would recommend them

Just to add, after 3 months of being on these same pads I can confirm the same experience.
Highly recommend these pads if you are continually experiencing the dreaded shudder.

Will these part numbers work on the US Stingers? I realize that the rear say Aust OE. Curious to know if the Brembo calipers uses in Australia are the exact same as US Bremb calipers.
That I cannot answer, I would suggest you email dba USA to confirm if AU part number is applicable.
I would also assume the Brembo calipers on the Stinger would be the same worldwide but it’s only an assumption.

Nice write up, I based my pad selection as per the below table from dba, refer line 3 performance, so on time I will see how they perform

How are they now ? Still good after this time ? I'm worried about brake noise

I'm looking to purchase this instead of going through Kia warranty. They've already machined the rotors. But shudder is back ><

I believe the shudder will always return because the problem is with the OEM pads not the rotors
My shuddering is back but only marginally, I feel once the disc is loaded with the OEM brake material the only way to remove it entirely is to get the disc machined (which I did not)
My shudder now is not to the point that I will pull my disc off and have them machined
As to the pads I put on, I experience no noise and very little dust

I’ve had my set up in since January 2020 & over 15,000 kms & no issues & no noise, I’m extremely happy with this combination.

Early days for me, but so far I'm loving the DBA XP pads. Initial bite takes a little getting used to but way better than the OEM Brembo pads in my opinion.
Thanks Stinger GT SS for putting me onto Matt who recommended them.

Yes the XP‘s make a big difference, initial bite is fine but the best part is quick & firm braking at speed & they are amazing.
No problem, glad your happy with them.

So no I got this email today from Kia.
Any advice ?

Good Afternoon Sunny,

I hope you are having a great day.

We have spoken to KIA.

KIA have advised they are unable to assist with the costs related to the repairs.

They believe that the issue is wear and tear.

My apologies for any inconvenience caused.

If you require anything in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you so much.

You have 3 options:

1. Go to another dealership who may push this for you to get your business.
2. Escalate your issue direct to Kia AU if you are not happy with your dealers response.
3. Buy aftermarket set up & move on.
