Never had a car that turned so many heads.

My eleven year old son came down with what I definitely think is a " cold " anyway now the primary school he attends has gone back to remote learning. Kids can attend if parents are working, there is paperwork ( you have to apply to have them there  ) anyway the Doctor advised I take him down the road today to get the Covid test done, anyone with any respiratory ailments is being advised to get tested.
I was a little anxious how it would go as my son has ASD (Active Sound Design) and ADHD and was getting more nervous the closer we got. When we at the front of the line, I parked the car, a Nurse came and took our particulars and the referral. Then a lovely older Nurse appeared at my son's window, she chatted to my son to make sure he was ok and was so gentle when doing the test that he didn't mind and in fact stated " that wasn't that bad ".
When she came up to the car, she stated enthusiastically " I like your car, I like your plates too " " It's so much fun " I replied and she said " You enjoy it ", on the way home my son stated " she was nice and she liked your car "...........yes, she was nice :)
The stupid word finder has put ASD as Active sound design ......well I suppose he has that too

I took my wife to the Audi dealer yesterday to pick up her car from a service. The only place to stop was near where they park the cars for sale so i stopped there. There were a couple of guys looking round the cars with a salesman and one looked up as i pulled up and said something to the other. They both headed my way and started looking around my Stinger leaving the Audi salesman stood there. The look on his face was priceless.

Well, the car WAS designed by a former Audi designer!

It is better looking than almost every Audi on the lot (save for R8)

We took my wife"s Mazda Miata into our local dealership to get her broken key fob replaced. The service fellow asked me if that orange car was mine and what was it. I said a KIA Stinger. He said he had never heard of it but did like the way it looked. I explained to him that it was designed by a previous Audi engineer and it had a twin turbo 6 cylinder engine with tons of hp. Then on my way home I spot my neighbor in his ceramic grey stinger on the interstate. I then kicked in the twin turbos to try and catch him. He took the turn onto the road that leads to our neighborhood and must of have noticed me chasing and he kicked his twin turbos in as well. It was fun and safe all under 60 mph post interstate. A couple of cool Stinger encounters within one outing. These Stingers are really fun to own and drive!

Finally got my car back from the dealer (small scratch in bumper they had to fix) While driving home last night on the PA turnpike I counted 4 cars that were trying to figure out who made the car. They would pull up behind me, Then pass me and stall at the 3/4 rear view. Then proceed to the front to see if they could see a logo. Some of the cars had passengers and I could see them looking back at the hood as they passed.
So glad to have the car back. I never get tired of looking at this vehicle.

If KIA wants to start selling more Stingers I think they should park them near competitor lots to steal sales lol
I bet it would work.

Yesterday I was flagged down by a person as I was leaving a worksite. He wanted to know what type of car I had and I said it was a Kia. Guess it doesn't help that I have the E badge up front. He said it was a beautiful car and color.

Another incident happened two months ago, but I drew the attention on myself... I took off a little faster than normal on a four way intersection and under a tree was a sheriff's car. Yes, I was pulled over and I admitted I was a lil excited about the car. He to wanted to know what type of car it was and I told him it was a Kia. He didnt believe me so I told him to look at the front to see the Kia logo. During that time it was not debaged. I ended up showing him around the car and the interior. Maybe that was enough distraction for a warning

He did mention he clocked me at 82 on the 45 mph posted sign. Oops

Holy, crap. Nailed at double the speed limit is an automatic pull of your driver's license in some states. You were almost there. :P

I'm sure he'll try harder next time.

Doing 80 mph in a 45 mph zone is very easy to do without much effort. I worry about speeding tickets with my stinger as well. Do y'all use launch control much? I want to try it but don't want to screw up my fairly new Stinger.

I have 1600 miles now and still have only used launch control a couple of times. I think I still enjoy the fact that she is fast without having to resort to launching the car all of the time.

Oh...and to stay on topic. I was just heading out of Costco as a family walked by and the guy and his wife were talking about the Stinger and the wife was trying to explain just how badass it really was. Damn right it is! 8-)

Drove to a doctor appt yesterday. As I was backing in to a far back isolated corner spot I note a couple of health care ladies in their colorful smocks seemingly eyeballing the car from close to the building. As I made my way up to the entrance, one of them can walking up fast and asked if I was Ray. I said "nope." "Oh, sorry..." I said, "no trouble, were you looking me or the car?" "Well, Ray has one of those." I said, "you know what that is?" "Oh, hell yeah!" Turns out Ray has a blue one also. So we chatted from behind our masks as I made my way to the doctor's office. I said, "you tell Ray that Mike says howdy." She says, "my friend here thinks I'm being creepy."
I said, "absolutely not, I could talk about cars any time, with anyone!" After that I visited my work office in Albany, where I haven't been for 6 months...cuz...you know. I texted my colleague to come out for a visit in the parking lot...at a distance...she replied "only if you drove the Stinger!"

Another one Stung.....Ate lunch at local park today. Minutes after parking the car and sitting at a nearby bench a family of 3 rode by on bikes and the father pointed out to his son, “That’s one badass car”
Hate to say it but Dad was right!!

Would a blaring horn fading in the rear count as being noticed? Because that's what I garnered a couple of hours ago as I used my Stinger as a rocket ship onto the highway; the car I went out and around gave me a good blast on the horn, obviously "impressed". Hah. :P

Definitely a sign of appreciation:rofl:

Did you also get a hand gesture telling you that you're #1?
Ah, the "Hawaiian good luck sign". Not that I noticed. But then, I didn't look either.

Today I had a guy driving a current model BMW 4 series coupe crane his head around to check out my car as I was driving alongside him and slowly passing him.

Shortly thereafter a guy in a carpark circled my car admiringly and then gave me a thumbs-up.
