I was washing my car in the driveway this evening and two old ladies stopped and started telling me how much they liked my car

my car gets a lot of attention at the paint shop. it may be filthy as sin, have body panels missing but it still gets looks. my boy was pulling it into the shop for the night and the guy next door whistled and asked if it was a Maserati.

I had a lot of folks give me the thumbs up this past weekend when I was out driving. An older couple in their Q7 pulled up to me and complimented the car ad how great it looks. Got thumbs up from folks in a strip mall. The attention was surprising as the car has been out for some time now, I guess some folks are just learning about it.

Took the Stinger this morning to run some errands around town and had 3 separate encounters in under an hour....3 lol. Weather was beautiful and the Stinger was polished up and looking good


First encounter...I was on my way to the bank and stopped at a light next to a large construction site. A worker was leaving the site and walked passed my car. He stopped and said "That is a GORGEOUS color! Beautiful man!" and gave me a thumbs up. I get a lot of comments on the color. All the dark accents make the HCR really pop!

Second encounter...Left the bank and headed to the post office. I passed a couple of people on bicycles and pulled up to a stop light. The guy on the bike comes around to my driver side window and said "Holy crap that thing is sweeeeeet! It sounds awesome and I love that red! What kinda car is that???" I told him and he leaned in and whispered "Get the f*ck outta here...REALLY??" He then says "Hey do me a favor..punch it off this light...I wanna hear this thing." So the light turns green and I give it about half throttle. That's plenty of juice to hear the Injens and the Borla. The car roars. I look in the rear view and he's standing there smiling and clapping

Third encounter...I was on my way home from the post office and I was behind a city bus. The bus pulls over at a light to pick up some people. I went around the bus and stopped at the light, even with the front of the bus. The bus driver leans out his window and says "I love that car man!!! Ooooooowee that's pretty!!" I told him thank you and give him a thumbs up. A guy in an SUV next to me (newer Bimmer X7) leans twords his passenger window, looks at the bus driver and says "What's that man?" thinking the bus driver was talking to him. The bus driver points to the Stinger and replies "Oh...nothing....I was taking to him" . This car never ceases to amaze.

3.5 months and just over 1000 mi local drives and I haven't turned a single head...and I've been watching!!! Musta shoulda got the red one...pffff, good; I was going for unique anonymity anyways...I don't feel bad...I don't feel bad at all... ...

Yup CS is a GREAT color! I originally wanted the Micro Pearl Blue but it was significantly more expensive than the HCR. They just wouldn't come down enough on the MPB. My wife even said "DO NOT come home with a red car" . But I got wayyyyy to good a deal on the HCR to walk away from it so I sheepishly drove it home. My wife saw it and said "UGHHHH you tool! I can't believe your a red car guy now!" But the HCR has certainly grown on both of us and now I wouldn't trade it for any other color. Although they all look pretty awesome if you ask me.

I recently heard the best compliment about my car.. I was standing in the servo line to pay for fuel and these 2 young guy's walk in (they had gotten out of an HSV GTS [HSV / GTS] and had been admiring my recently Re-Badged baby) anyway the conversation went something like this:

1. What the F#$¥ is that Orange thing?
2. Don't know Bro, but it looks F#@$%# Sick.
1. Yeah but WTF is it?
2. Who cares Bro, it will probably kick your GTS's arse by the looks of it... hahaha
1. Yeah that's why I need to know What it is so I can stay away from them Brah...

I paid for my fuel and as I turned I said with a slight little smile on my face... Anytime you Boy's want to play, I'm game... to which No.2 burst out laughing pointed at his mate and said F#@$% it's an Old Fella car and I still rekon he will definitely kick ur arse.... lol

I did not even mind that he referred to me "as old"... haha

Hey buzz did you wrap the back end of the roof it looks nice! How much did it end up costing you and what was the name of the color? I’m looking to do it to my HCR stinger I don’t like the split :/

Hey Jared Thanks!! Yeah I had it wrapped with 3M glossy black. I also had the a-pillars and chrome trim around windows wrapped as well. I paid 500 but there's people on here who have had it done for around 350-400. Chicago's expensive.

Thanks Pumbaa! I actually considered trading in my car for a Fed Orange just so I could have a vanity plate that read HOBBES. I was a HUGE Calvin and Hobbes fan growing up . Perfect fit considering how much I love the car LOL! That's a super sharp color!

Wow I didn’t even notice the chrome and pillars wrapped but damn does that make a difference! I’m definitely doing that to my car thanks for the info!

For sure man! They may tell you they have to remove the antenna to wrap it but my guys didn't have to do that and it turned out great. That can get pricey as they have to remove the inner headliner to remove it. Shop around for a good price and post some pics when you get it done

You just haven't noticed... have a quick look around when you are stopped at a light... Yesterday I caught three, the one that amused me the most was a guy in an X6, looking over, bottom lip out, nodding his head

I've been driving the car around West Texas this week and it gets looks, just entirely confused ones; I've never seen another one out this way. I did a rental checkout at a flight school here and the CFI asked what it was, and when I told him it was a Stinger, he told me "I heard about these!" but he had no idea what they looked like. Stellar marketing, Kia.

I don't think there is truly a bad color on the Stinger, but HCR and CS absolutely stand out the most, especially in intense sunlight. I've only seen one Fed Orange car around my place and it was at a body shop missing it's front clip.

Coming home from work the other day, I noticed the car next to me kept speeding up and slowing down with me in traffic and just hanging next to me. I looked over thinking, what the heck are they doing, and I saw a big grin. The guy pointed to my car and gave me a thumbs up. I could see his younger passenger craning his neck to see my car around the driver. I gave a thumbs up back to him and mouthed, thank you.

I've only done 3000km (2000 miles for you yanks ) in my Stinger and have now had three complete strangers in parking lots strike up a conversation with me to tell me how great my car looks. Aged from approximately their twenties right through to sixties.

Also had five delivery drivers comment on the car while they walked past it, plus the lovely female postie too.
