Navigation Update V14 due out April 20, 2020

Well, sorry stingerbeagle and kri5topher but my download also stopped at 39%. It looks like VIT_NA__DOT__hafp02 is the problem. I retried multiple times but it just won't work.

Perhaps I just got lucky with the Stinger.

Thanks for trying! That's the exact same file mine gets hung up on too.
Objective-C:

Just run it after it's installed the Korean version. Clicking the settings wheel and switch to US region.
Ah, so it only works if you can access the cloud server, right

Question. Do you have to use the original SD card that came with the stinger in order to update the map and firmware by overwrite them with the update app. I have tried a brand new SD card without any luck. It would not do the update on a third party SD card.

Thank you for giving it a try, I appreciate your willingness to do that.

For some reason, I cannot find this file in the log, but I assume it is probably failing on this same file.

I wonder if this file can be copied from the Stinger files into the Sorento folder and then restart the download. It is in the Map folder, so I'm hoping these are the same for any USA vehicle. Not sure if it will work, but I may give it a try using the files you provided.

My Stinger update went fine based on @JohnL 's posted files. Thanks again!

The only quirk is that when I first put in the card and started the car, it popped up a "Failed to authenticate" dialog which went away before I could take a picture of it. After that I decided to yolo it and apply the update from the settings menu. It went as normal after that (this is the second time I've updated; the first one being a freebie from Kia right after I purchased).

I like the new map UI and was able to do a quick test by navigating back home.

Now to figure out how to do the Sorento...

I just used a third party card to successfully update. What error did you get?

Looks like the files in the Map folder for the Stinger are slightly different. Probably because it is Gen5 and the 2016 Sorento is Gen4.

I tried downloading files for other Gen4 Kia vehicles (Sportage/Sedona) and these all failed at the same spot with an unzipping error. Sounds like the download for Gen4 systems is broken right now, and it is not just the Sorento.

Did the update, everything went well. Only issue was getting the "Media" thing to come back so I could get my bluetooth audio going again. Also noticed there's now an "Off" option for the fake engine noise.

I downloaded the Kia Sorento ZIP files for VIT_NA.hafp02 outside of the downloader and compared it to what the downloader was pulling and they were identical. After renaming all the files (since the downloader renames the files more appropriately, but not exact, and they aren't named correctly on the Kia server), the extraction appears to be dying at around 580MB of the 800-ish MB, appearing like the 59th or so zip file in the volume is corrupt for whatever reason.

The attached picture shows what the root of the SD card should look like. I suggest you download the files from my earlier post: Navigation Update V14 due out April 20, 2020

Once you download the zip files, unzip the archive and copy the files to the blank SD card.
Thanks for your help. I will give it a try tomorrow. Just wondering why the one I downloaded from Kia site and created by the apps is different than yours.

Because yours is the Korean region version. Your main directory should be named "2019_20_Stinger_USA" (Assuming US) and not "Stinger_2019_UVO" as I am betting it is. You need to make sure that the region is set appropriately before trying to download.

You are 100% correct that I was in Korea region. Thanks for pointing it out and your help is greatly appreciated. It worked now....

Awesome, glad it helped. Yeah, this software isn't exactly the most user friendly or obvious in terms of how things are supposed to be done. It doesn't help that it seems like it was released before it was even fully finished.

Here's the link to the files: Stinger Nav Upgrade - Icedrive

When you open the link it will show you all 36 files. I was going to make the folder downloadable but with this site it meant that the whole folder would be zipped into one large file. Just highlight all of the files and hit the download button that appears at the top of the page.

Enjoy!
Thank you so much your files allowed me to update. The app kept failing when unzipping even at 100%. With your files I just extracted onto an sd card and worked

I'm glad that it worked for you!

The process isn't that difficult. It's getting the files that's difficult. What's really strange is that some people, like Dmango and I, have been able to download using the app and others, like you and forceflow2, can't even get it to work after multiple tries. I thought it might be geographical, and it might be, but the server I connect to is in Monrovia, CA. One of the people who had problems shows he's in Northern CA so I would think we'd both be using the same server. Maybe there are multiple servers and only one of them has the correct files. I don't know.

I wish someone from Kia would come on here and explain what's going on.
