Thanks. So the car doesn't need the original SD card to boot the head unit? Just take it out, use it for the update, put it back in, start the car, do the system update? You sure can. Kia had given me an update to the current map right after I purchased my car. I used the original SD card that came with the car for this update.

Awesome, thanks. That actually did it, I downloaded that and put it in the right directory after it failed to unzip, but before clicking on retry. Tried to do that before with the partially extracted file just to see what'd it would do and it did not react the same way, so it looks like it does do a hash or signature check on it to validate the file is correct, which is nice.I uploaded that file to File on MEGA
It's just under 500MB.
I wonder if Kia (Hyundai) is using something like Akamai and there are some bad copies out there. If you have access to a VPN you might try connecting to a server near Spokane (where I am) since I was able to download the software without any problems.
A little under 22.5GB after extracted. How large are the downloaded files
Just performed the update and looks like everything went okay. Haven't had time to use it yet though, maybe tomorrow. Looks a bit different in general (rounded buttons on things is the most obvious), not sure when they made those changes though so maybe they did that a while ago.
For my 2019 Stinger, the download fails every time at about 72%, with an error "Error Code 1: ERR_FILE_SIZE". I also get a similar error every time for my Sorento. This is some pretty half-baked crap-ware![]()
Same.Tried. Got a little further than usual and failed again.![]()
This isn't the SD card yet. It's just downloading the file to HD. Computer is fine.Maybe try a different computer and or a different SD card? It could be picky, or you could have a dying SD card.
