Lease Incentive History by Month

The higher resale value will make up for the difference in lease incentives and negotiation off MSRP.

With a lease why would you care about resale value? None of these cars are going to be worth their buyout price or their residual now. These Stingers are really seeing some heavy depreciation now.

Lease it and then turn it in at the end of the lease.

I should've noted that would be in the case of an immediate buyout. Even with these improved incentives, the Stinger leases very poorly if you're not immediately buying it out.

BMW 440i's are available below $500/mo, and in some cases $400/mo. Audi's aren't known to lease well, but A5 Sportbacks can be had under $500/mo.

I paid $38,400 + TTL on my GT2 buyout, but it would've been $640/mo for 24 months had I made the lease payments. 36 month leases aren't a lot better, and you're still looking at well over $500 on GT2's.

If you only want to keep a brand new Stinger for 2-3 years, you're better off doing a lease buyout, then selling or trading in at the end.

More on resale values: the Stinger has very poor resale compared to MSRP, but quite good resale compared to out the door pricing on a lease buyout.

I know everyone looks at the Stinger lease options as expensive when compared to other brands and they are. However, when you compare the lease options to buying the car with financing leasing it is still a much better option.

I was stuck purchasing my GT2 because my wife HATES leases. She just simply doesn’t understand them. Therefore, I had to purchase my Stinger and while I don’t regret getting the car one bit I do regret not doing the lease and actually keeping the lease.

The interest rates if you don’t have a credit union aren’t exactly great for used cars. Also you are getting a great discount on the car but it is still well under water even if you do the lease buyout.

The used values of cars are just terrible now. I honestly think that leasing is the only prudent thing to do now.

Very curious to see if any changes to the numbers for June and July... guessing they will be basically the same as current, but it would be notable if they AREN'T. Waiting patiently for the next few days... :)

Would it be too farfetch to see the lease incentives on the GTS to be very close to the incentives on the GT1?

Lease incentives for June are out, and it looks like they're identical to May.

It appears lease incentives have been pulled for 2019 models. Last year, incentives lasted on the 2018's through June. I'm not seeing as many leftover 2019's this time of year as I did 2018's last year. That may have led to incentives on remaining models being cut earlier.

Once lease incentives are done for 2019's how do the dealerships move those vehicles? There are still several on the lots here in CA but I don't seem to be able to get a great deal on them any longer.

At one point I think I head the dealer gets a fixed amount from Kia for selling a leftover once incentives expire.

So, once financing and lease rebates expire, the dealer has to sell at a big loss and hope to recoup all or some of that from Kia.

Since incentives no longer apply, finance rates won’t be anything special and leasing to buyout no longer makes sense. Best to either pay cash, or finance if you need to.

Wait two years, like Doug Demuro. :D

They have great leases to move old product out and if that doesn't work deep discounts. Some manufacture gives at least 5k off.

July incentives are identical to May and June.

This is the first time incentives have remained the same in a 3-month period for the most current model year.

I wonder if this is due to better than expected sales in June. Regardless, the lease cash is higher for 2020's now than for the 2019 model in July of 2019.

July incentives are yet to be out, it was supposed to be expire on 6th July. So right now we can’t see any offers, let’s hope July has better offers then the last 2 months as stinger 2021 will be around the corner. Waiting for it

Waiting for it

At least according to Autobytel, the incentives are out for July and valid until August 3rd.

One thing I missed is that the GT incentives are up $100 (oooh). GT1 and GT2 remain the same.

For GT2 in my area the lease cashback has reduced from 10500 to 9700 for GT2 AWD.
I have seen a reduction of 800-500 dollars in all the trims for the KMF lease back offer
I wasn't expecting it to go down.
Is it because of 2021 stinger anticipated in early august or this happened last year too?

Incentives haven't gone down in the past for the area I'm in. The numbers in my area seem to match a lot of other regions, so I've taken it upon myself to track and post them.

Perhaps in your region, sales were relatively low in the past or competitor leases were stronger, so they offered higher incentives.

Since sales were quite good in June, they may have reduced lease cash in your area to match the wider market. $9700 is the same that I've been showing for the AWD GT2 for the past 3 months.

Another departure from the pattern of incentives.

This time, the incentives were actually lowered.

Incentives were reduced $200-300 across the trims for August. This puts them in a similar range to where they were back in March.

Perhaps this is due to a combination of improved sales over last year, and lower production.

I still think we'll see a significant increase on 2020 incentives once the 2021's become available (as yet not announced).

Twelve THOUSAND dollar lease incentive?

No wonder KIA can't afford to replace my rotors for the second time lol

Thanks. I guess I wasn't expecting the incentive to go down like this. I had a GT1 RWD deal negotiated last month but waited gambling it would go up a few hundred. But looks like I failed.

Another drop of $300-500 on lease incentives - interesting. My guess is that sales continue to be better than expected at this point in the model year for Kia.
