I will be trying to create some type of heat shield with aluminum or somemthing looking at stuff...
yeah i am going to home depot honestly and they sell think sheets of aluminum which are very easy molded and i have the oem box mounting points already....also will be looking like you said some type of cardboard material and then wrap on the reflective insulation....I will play with it but to be honest i drove for a while and the filter was not hot or the pipe and my filter is placed right in front of the duct...so i assume as i drive the cold air get pushed right into it ....How about some kind of thin particle board? Probably will be hell to try to mold it to fit though.
Look in the insulation area of Home Depot. Probably got all kinds of cool products to play with there.
LOL shit man you started this madness on me ....its your fault you got me going and stungbluegt2 !!!!Good luck! Curious to see what you come up with!

Hey just a quick fyi I been doing a little research and if those elbows are abs plastic like auto zone says be careful because the plastic supposedly can soften up over time especially with the extra heat from the turbos and with boost can make the pipe collapse or damage and if a piece of it comes flying into your intake game over so I'm going to spring for the metal ones for a extra 19 bucks just to be on the safe side.AS PROMISED FELLOW STINGER OWNERS....
SORRY GUYS THERE IS 4 PARTS TO THE VIDEO I WAS RECORDING MYSELF SORRY FOR THE BAD QUALITY
HAHAHAHAHAHA LOL sorry i had to laugh....not at you but with you bro.....plastic is better man its lighter and hence it doest get hot at all dude....i drove to wisconsin yesterday 3 hour drive ,,,driving like a maniac....when i got to my uncle house i opened the hood and the touched the elbow and it was not hot...it was warm ....trust me man you will be 100 percent fine.....i mean you can go aluminum i but no need to man .....your not putting these in front of a flamethrower.....Hey just a quick fyi I been doing a little research and if those elbows are abs plastic like auto zone says be careful because the plastic supposedly can soften up over time especially with the extra heat from the turbos and with boost can make the pipe collapse or damage and if a piece of it comes flying into your intake game over so I'm going to spring for the metal ones for a extra 19 bucks just to be on the safe side.
