Wheel/size/offset and tire/size/profile...can be confusing.

Is your car AWD?

If so you'll need to run 245 35 on the front to match the rear diameter.

Or, you can run a 295 30 in the rear to match the 255 35 on front - I would go this way if there are tires in those sizes.

The problem with 275/30 in the rear is speedo accuracy.

At 295/30, the speedo reads 59.9 km/h at 60 actual.
At 285/30, the speedo reads 59.3.
At 275/30, the speedo reads 58.8.

Hey all! I currently have the stock square setup on my 2018 GT1, 225/45/R18 with the 18x8 rims. I would like to add a bit more rubber and get some 19" wheels on a square setup with little to no poke.

After doing a little digging, it seems like 245/40, 245/45, or 255/40 would be a good fit (Conti DWS06, I'm in MI so the roads are garbage). As for rim size, maybe 8.5 with offsets around 35-40.

Am I on track here? Just looking for a little direction! Thank you!

Howdy and welcome. Get the pros involved to be certain about your options. What you propose has been covered probably in a bunch of posts above. Read the thread. :)

Hello ,

You're on the right track! You can go with 19x8.5/9 +35/+38 Offset with 245/40R19 Tires all around with no rub issue. DWS06+ is a great high performance all season tires. Feel free to reach out if you have any fitment questions. Happy to help!

Thanks so much Eddie, I really appreciate the help!

Hi everybody!

I went through this thread and thank you all for the informations shared.
I'm still confused by what is the meaning of the Offset tho and i would like to know if somone can explain it with simple words..

I'm in the process to give Stingy some new shoes and i'm hesitating between the below 2 packs.
The NICHE MISANO comes in stagered set but not the Rotiform.

I have the 2018 GT and i want to be sure that the new rims will give a better look than the already nice oem i have now (that are Satin black already) and that hey will be closer to the edges and not rub the fenders or other mechanical parts.

For the tires I guess it will depends on the final rims specs.

Ok so after some researches on my own, I think I understand now all these numbers.
Below is a quick drawing I did to visualy compare the difference between OEM and the 2 models shared before.
The drawing is just for the rims comparison, not with tires.

For the professionals please confirm if this make sense

Glad you figured out the definition of the offset. It can be very confusing at the beginning but after you have it sorted out. You can calculate the best spec to fit your car.

I recommend the following spec for your GT:

Niche Misano : 20x9 ET 35 Front and Rear with 255/35R20 Tires
Niche Misano : 20x9 ET 35 Front and 20x10 ET40 Rear with 255/35R20 285/30R20

Rotifrom OZR : 20x9 ET 38 Front and Rear with 255/35R20 Tires

Feel free to dm me if you have any other questions! The Misano and OZR are both in stock, if you would like to a quote, don't hesitate to reach out for the special member deals :)

Hi Eddie and thank you for your feedback!

My GT is the Rear Wheel drive, I don't mind to switch my staggered setup with a square one but I want to be sure this will not Impact the safety of the car on the road.

For the tire size I believe you mean them in 20"?

I'm based in dubai, I don't know if you are shipping there but i'm curious to receive a quote for the 2 options with the members discount :D

Here is something that will help you visualize the offsets:

That depends on how hard you are going to drive the car. More grip helps with limits...but moving away from understeer has consequences and at the limit you can swap ends a lot easier towards neutral or over-steer tendencies. In general these and most cars are overly conservative towards understeer, but the problem with tuning this out is if you get to a real tight emergency situation, when you yank on the wheel, it might cause you to spin and depart the road surface backwards or worse. This is where something like Autocross can help a lot with learning the limits.

Thank you SRV.

RM7 appreciate the feedback, spinning is ok but having the car going butt before head is not an option.
I'm not a racer but i do enjoy time to time to take some speed curve or distancing some ambitious mustang drivers.
But I don't want to end like 99% of the mustang btw lol.

The Rotiform OZR come only in 20x9 so I'm very wondering if I should still consider them.

Is there anyone who shifted for square setup on their RWD GT?

Ready to pull the trigger on the BR14 but 285/30-19 PS4S are on backorder everywhere!

Specs:
Braelin BR14
Michelin PS4S
Front: 19x8.5et30 245/35
Rear: 19x9.5et42 285/30

As far as I know nobody's running exactly this, but I scoured this thread to validate that it'll fit

No problem, just get a set of:

Continental DWS06 Plus

Great tires, best in-class on TireRack.

Eh, I've had some poor experiences with Contis in the past. My father had an is250 on their max performance tire of the era and every one needed to be replaced due to sidewall bubbles. I tried a set on my GTI 10 years ago and by 20k miles they'd worn unevenly longitudinally, making the ride bumpy. Tire Rack fought for a warranty claim for me and won, thankfully. I won't trash their name as I'm sure they work great for some but I personally avoid them.

Order placed. Couldn't get PS4S (backorder everywhere, minimum 2+ mo lead time) so I "settled" for PSS

Edit LOL I got an email that the rears will ship 10/5
