What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Cleaned my aFe pro dry S air filters. Not as easy as the KN filters in the OEM air box but not difficult. Used the aFe cleaning solution. the filters had 6500miles since initial install. The solution removed quite a bit of dirt. The inside of each box had a small amount of dirt at the bottom. I had been wanting to adjust my headlights slightly higher so I removed the boxes and adjusted the headlights using a 12mm ratchet. this was really easy - there’s a thread explaining this. I have a long/skinny screwdriver to fit through the adjustment hole but the aFe box blocks the hole.

What’s the recommended miles to clean?
And curious what kind of weather you have since you mentioned they were pretty dirty.

I had no idea what the recommended mileage is between cleanings I did find the instruction for how to do it. I decided to clean them on the recommended Kia service schedule. It isn't hard. The link below indicates 85%, 96%, 100% clean. I found that to be very misleading. After using the detergent and washing it there was a lot of dirt that came out of the filter. The water was black. after each filter.

I just found this on the aFe website. Obviously Im a bit earlier than their recommended mileage. I'm glad I did.

"HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN MY FILTER?

Keeping up with regular maintenance improves the lifespan and efficiency of your engine air filter, but over-cleaning it is detrimental. Make sure to strike the right balance. A good rule of thumb is to clean your air filter around the 25k-30k mile mark. You’ll need to clean it sooner if you’ve been through extremely dusty or dirty environments."

I live in South Carolina.

Tested out my new turn signals to make sure they work. The Mrs ordered them for me for my birthday, took awhile for them to come in. Anybody got any suggestions on the best way to remove the painted caps without breaking them?

I remember

Gonna miss how the regular tails light up at night. I just hated how the tail light panel looks when the lights aren't on. Reminds me of a Robin mask. So getting rid of that and having the turn signals be sequential is a bonus. Plus, technically, it wasn't my $800 bucks ;)

LOL... for us, it all comes out of the same bank account.

Anyhoo, we've had out '23 for a while now, and I still much prefer the tail lights on our '19. Not to say I don't like the new style. The old ones are just so distinct, you can tell it's a Stinger from a long ways away. Plus they are the correct brightness, and they draw attention, which is what you want in a car's tail light... for safety reasons, more than for vanity. I think that's an advantage of the sequential lights, as they do tend to draw more attention.

Patience. Lots and lots of patience. I posted how I did it a while back. Also, DO NOT take them off the OEM and immediately install on the new lights. Install the new lights and then the last step is to install the painted caps. It’s much easier to install the lights this way.

Today I'm about to get the MBRP resonators removed. They arent worth it to add on IMO. There's still some drone and it eliminates some sounds you DO want to hear. The downshifts and burbles sound muted.

Interesting, I'm considering adding them to the Borla active exhaust hahah.

Had the new Borla active catback exhaust installed this weekend. Coming from past exhausts (G37 /w Ark catback and TL-S with J-Pipe/resonators), this is a lot more aggressive and slightly droney inside during acceleration. That said in comfort/eco on the highways, completely fine especially some music playing - the drone is not bad at all. In sport mode it's similar to the 2018-2021 Borla catback sound profile but less raspy.

Only had it for a few days now, but will plan on recording a new video later.

i have the mbrp active exhaust so im not sure how the drone is compared to the borla but its louder than 2018-2021 version of the exhaust. i had no problem with it on my old stinger. even though the drone is louder in sport mode id rather have that and still have nice sounding downshifts and burbles than have the resonators on that didn't even reduce the drone enough for it to be worth it.

i got my car back out of the shop a couple hours ago and man it made me happy to have that sound back.
