What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Added a few personal wrinkles to my new Stinger.
Window tint (dealer paid for it as part of my purchase agreement).
Mud guards/flaps (Kia OEM).
Custom body side mouldings, colour matched with Stinger logo.
Full Xpel clear film on front bumper, entire hood and partial front fenders.
3d Maxpider floor mats.
Replace GT emblem on trunklid with pre-2022 style emblem (nicer, in my opinion)
Ordered, still waiting on, duckbill style trunk lid spoiler. Hopefully arrives next week.

In the near future I hope to order new brake pads for the front. Trying to stay ahead of the pulsing brake game.

Nothing like that sexy gloss black............... spare :(

Stock jack is trash btw. I have a nice floor jack but I didn't wanna damage anything. Stinger is just like the trans am I used to have, has the notches in the pinch welds. Next time (hopefully not any time soon) I'll be prepared. Buy the jack pad that sits on top of the floor jack that is notched in the middle. Will make the job a hundred times easier.

Don't even know, was dark, didn't "feel" like I hit anything but it made the worst sound I've ever heard while driving. Might've been something stuck in there. Was just feet from getting on the freeway. Good thing that it happened where it did I suppose?

Installed the remore start from accessoride today. Pretty easy install, biggest pain would be tapping the 2 wires at the fuse box. T taps worked out ok but with minimal room to work it sucked. Simple programming of the OEM fob feature is nice, instead of having a second on the key chain.

Took out 80+ pounds out of the rear end by removing the heavy spare tire and jack and also installing a 17lb PowerTex Lithium Iron battery.

I can’t believe how heavy the stinger battery is!!

Yay, got my little spoiler last week.
I also changed out the GT emblem (didn't like the new one), and added the AWD emblem.
Earlier I added custom side moulding.
I'm paranoid when parking at Wal Mart etc. Too many moms and kids in their SUVS swing doors open.

Had my Stance SF07 (19x8.5 +32 and 19x9.5 +38 - Dual Gunmetal) wheels installed on Continental DWS06+ 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 tires. Very slight poke in the rear, but quite flush otherwise.

The wheels have been sitting in my garage BNIB for almost a year, haha. Enjoying the open spoke look, gotta show off the brembos :)

May I ask what made you pick 245/40, 275/35 rather than 245/35, 285/30? both combinations would fit with those wheels in that offset. My VS-10s are the same spec and i'm considering going to wider tires when I get new ones next summer. I'm considering both combinations, but not sure which way to go.

My main criteria in addition to the wider contact area for traction/grip was more sidewall as the roads around Houston are not great. I wanted a slightly more cush ride, wheel protection at the expense of speedo being a bit more off.

Technically 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 would provide a more accurate speedo and lower % of diameter change, but would be a very slightly smaller sidewall then 245/40 and 275/35.

Attached tire calculator comparisons for reference :)

Those are the comparisons that I've been looking at, hence my question. If the roads were better, would you nave gone the other way?

Yeah, I would have gone the 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 if I had no concerns with roads, wanted the closest match to OEM speed, and was riding solo/wanted max performance.

As it stands the extra sidewall is a nice to have for carrying passengers (wife and kiddo).

Where did you get the battery from? I have heard that a simple swap to a lithium iron battery can be problematical because the charging system must be designed to charge them, or you will ruin them. Any issue so far?

Power Up Your Energy Needs with Powertex LiFePO4 Batteries

No issues so far! There are a couple others with the Anitgravity brand version and have been running for a year with no issue. I saw some on ebay for even cheaper, might be worth a shot.

So, during last rain storm I hit a deep puddle on freeway and ripped both underneath front shields off. Instead of spending $500+ for new shields I decided to make a $70 home made one out of polycarbonate sheet. Hopefully it will work. 20230904_111601.jpg

that must have been some deep puddle, at speed no less. have you had your under panels taken off and reinstalled? that fabricated replacement looks very cool.

installed M&S center wing last week. i like it way it look.

We had some very heavy rainfalls this summer. Luckily I didn't loose them completely, so I could use whatever was left from them to make a shape for polycarbonate sheet.
