We had some very heavy rainfalls this summer. Luckily I didn't loose them completely, so I could use whatever was left from them to make a shape for polycarbonate sheet.
Ok, so I ordered the two carbon fibre look hood scoops from KDM.
The current ones that came on the car are shiny piano black, which I'm not a big fan of.
This is the first time I've used KDM, and I was prepared to receive two cheap knock off Chinese plastic hood inserts.
Boy, was I wrong.
These things are direct Kia parts. Very sturdy and well made. I was more than surprised to look on the back and see Kia Motors and their part numbers molded into the unit. They are really nice. I'll install them this week.
Got scorpion edition rims installed on my 21 GT1 and I’m obsessed with how much better they make the car look. Definitely seems to get the extra looks and head turns .

I dont believe they’re any lighter but that’s just based on what others have said. I didnt weigh them myself since I wanted them purely for aesthetics.
Just curious but did you try to look at any aftermarket wheels? Reason I ask is that the scorpion wheel is not some really fancy pattern. I'm sure there were/are wheels that look very similar that are also lighter weight plus are cheaper too. The OEM wheels cost a lot for what they are imo.
Not quite today, but this past weekend did the 9k oil change on her after a long road trip through Southern Oregon. On a long straightaway got her up to 130...was smooth even up to that speed.
Got a few nice comments on her, and a few people (and birds) checking her out...

If I had to take a guess those are not the factory option CF inserts theyre gloss black oem inserts thay have been hydrodipped with a cf pattern. Still fake CF but at least you know the fit will be good since its an OEM part.

Got some new tires this weekend: replaced my worn Continental Extreme Contact Sport with the new ECS 02. I've used the previous summer tires a couple times now so I'm curious how this updated version will stack up against its predecessor.
Unfortunately, I haven't had time to go on a nice drive to push it or examine the ride quality, but I hope to soon. They seem really nice on the two short trips I've done so far.
I'll take spots over bugs anytime. yesterday after returning from the mountains I sat for most of half an hour and sponged bugs off the grilles and etc. the rain missed me though.
Man, that must be nice! My Stinger is a daily so it sees the worst - rain, Minnesota snow, salt, hail, dust, nasty Mayflies.
My truck however, is kinda a garage queen, is mostly only out on nice days. I think in 5 years I've been caught in the rain only once and it definitely doesn't see winter.

Interesting. Yes, the fit was perfect.
I just took a look at the part number on the ones I took off (the OEM glossy black finish) and the Kia part numbers are the same as the new ones I put on.
I took a very close look at the new ones, (already on the car), and if they hydrodipped them, they did a great job. I can't find any defect whatsoever.
Any non Stinger owner would never know I changed them, but I'm happy with them. They look good on there.
Finally did my first oil change. Man! It’s a pain in the ass to remove the under covers and figure out how to jack it up. I guess there’s no jack points. But I finally installed the Velossa snorkels.
Also does anyone know what this wire harness is on the last picture? Or was it supposed to be connected to something? When I took the bumper off, it was just hanging.
