Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

Would need to see the JB4 log of the last run for tuning advice.
Will send them tomorrow , as Kato and I are hitting the track

attitude is 320 above sea level, DA was 2800
I can also safely assume, anything less than a full tank, and full air pressure in the tires will help.
and better than 93 octane
My DA was 3000. Stock 19s with summers. 3/4 tank of 93 octane. I did let out air pressure. I ran an 11.80

And this is why you need to hook up that Meth. You’ll be we into the 11s.

Sounds good! For best results run 1/4 tank of E30 mixture fuel or unleaded race gas. And don't forget all the little tricks like removing the spare tire at the track and lowering the tire pressure a bit if needed for traction.

The question is, does the gigantic battery help with traction or hurt with unnecessary weight?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I'm not sure whether to be ashamed or proud to trap over 116 mph.

Given I was completely heat soaked, 2.2 60', and baking in the heat/humidity.

I have a month to redeem myself and remember to let the car cool for an hour w/ some ice instead of hot lapping it after driving 1.5 hours to the strip. LOL

116 ain't bad especially if hot. But Hwy driving makes you cooler not hotter.

My iat’s were ~160*, meth got them back down to 130* but it was just too hot in general weather and track wise.

I should have mentioned it was over an hour highway driving then about 25 min stop and go through the city. My stock intercooler did not make my car very happy lol

Ew, 2.2 60ft. What was your technique on launch? Even stock launch control should be better than that

What offset is that?

Not sure tbh, they came with my RX7 Fd.. Ill get a tape measure and get a ballpark number for ya.. they will not clear the front though, and clear the back by less then half an inch on the calipers and clear the suspension by 1/2 and inch.. no rubbing

Wasn’t really a technique. Had the switch on to heat my street Nt05’s up but those still didn’t hold. That was 2nd gear feathering it. I couldn’t pull boost back because it kept making me go in limp mode for some reason. Just issues being the first time at the track and I couldn’t fix it with the time I had.

On my ET Streets I could just grip and rip. Joys of a RWD car.

Has anyone else tried to hold their brake snip launch to 5-6 seconds and 3500 rpm?
Brake snip issue

Most I’ve done was 3000. I spun, so I figured more would not help. What boost did that take you to?

yeah, that's RWD launch control times lol

tbh, it was driver error on my part too. I've never taken it to the track and haven't done any dig racing since my ET's. Live and learn. I just need to go to a "mexico" spot and figure out the sweet spots to get that 60' down.

Wasn't me but sounds like the torque converter is damaged. Whiteybrid is right, once it let go beyond 3K that's probably when you know you broke it.

Normally if the torque converter fails you just don't go when you give it gas. A thud or odd sound when changing from park to drive or reverse is normally mechanical slop in a ujoint or mount.

As I said in his thread:

Terry@BMS said:
Could be nothing, could be a worn ujoint somewhere, or maybe a broken trans mount? You'll have to better diagnose where the noise is coming from.

There is going to be a physical limit on the strength of parts somewhere. In terms of the trans and transfer case for AWD cars, I have absolutely no idea where that limit is. Push your cars accordingly. :)
