Drag/Acceleration The Official 1/4 mile track thread.

Awesome and congrats on taking #1 spot(stock turbos) again.

Few weeks ago 11.5 was a dream and now you’re making it look easy.;) Bet people are jealous and still can’t believe you’re breaking records with completely stock exhaust and just the JB4/WMI & intakes. Amazing!

I'm hoping similar times are available with JB4/CPI (when finished) + BMS intercooler + intakes and E30-E50 in the tank..

Not that I really plan on going to the strip, but I love the rush of power :-)

Just curious - do suspension mods have much effect on 1/4 mile times? I'm guessing sways won't do much. What about stiffer springs in the back for RWD? Or is the effect so small, it's generally ignored?

I did some lowering springs on our development car and it didn't have any effect on 1/4 mile although that was pre brake boosting. I prefer the 1" lower stance though. :)

I plan to test this out. Anyone have a set of springs I can “borrow?”

Looking forward to you getting snipped! Or the equivalent inside the ECU, either way :D
One or the other will happen by end of month.

No expert, but this seems like a thorough article on the topic.
Drag Race Suspension Tuning

Some more related information that isn't Mustang specific despite the title.
Setting Up Your Mustang's Suspension for Drag Racing vs. Road Courses

Seems like it can make a HUGE difference from what I am reading.

Thanks. I was pretty sure that "drag-strip specific" suspension was helpful, especially for RWD. I was more wondering about the common sway + lowering spring mods people on here are doing, and if they should be listed along with the ETs, or if the effect of those is like 0.05, so not worth keeping track of..

I did a pretty exhaustive search on "brake snip" and see a lot of people talking about utilizing it in this thread, but no concise description of the mod itself. Can someone point me at a good description?

Best,

Best,

That's because it's called the Burger burn out switch. Not sure why it says brake snip in the listings, you're not cutting your brakes, lol.

Pretty cool hack! It is definitely going to surface any potential fragility in the drivetrain south of the flywheel. :)

Best,

Best,

For sure.. No pain, no gain. But so far tons of guys pushing low 1.6' 60' times and no broken axles yet.

Low 1.7s on crewdogs RWD monster also and no issues that he's posted about!

was that his 60'? I'm surprised, I would have thought it would have been a good bit higher considering his trap speed and ET.
Yeah the BOV issues are really hurting the top end but hopefully that will be resolved soon and easily get low 11s@125+

Gave her another RIP tonight but da was through the roof 3600. New best but kinda pissing in the wind on this one.

A new best is never a bad night. :) How are the 0-60 times now with the brake switch?
