Spark Plug change tips

Followed all the tips in this thread and knocked it out in just over an hour. Some frustrating moments trying to rethread the coil pack bolts, but all in all not terrible with the right tools.

Ya those coil pack bolts were a p.i.t.a. the single biggest time consumer for me when I did them. Some guys have swapped them out, I think I'll do that next time as well.

I think everyone should just go ahead and get the replacements and do it the first change. The OEM coil pack bolts suck.

Its hit and miss. I bought a replacement set before I did mine and of course, because I was prepared, had no issues with the OEM bolts.

I think the issues with these bolts (other than supposed quality) is the alignment to the hole. I found when I worked on mine if the threaded hole and the hole of the coil pack was even very slightly misaligned, the bolt refused to start.

For me, the driver side front coil pack was really the only one that was a big issue, all the rest seemed to start without issue. There were no issues with the bolt itself that I could tell, and I never did crossthread the hole, so no idea why that one was such trouble.

Super helpful! Great tips. Overall it took about 1.5 hours and it helped having a grabber tool in place of my fat hands. Oh and patience too!

Lol... if you can help me identify the yellow bike in this picture, I would be most grateful. I'm not a bike person, I just know it's yellow and the guy matches, that must mean something right? I don't have any other view of it as I was ahead and then got on the highway right after. He stared me down because of how my modified my stinger looks so I had no choice.

EDIT: I googled around and it looks like a Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R in yellow. If there are any bike enthusiasts out there that might be able to help confirm it, thanks in advance.

You do realize this is a spark plug thread. Perhaps mods can move this to the "kill Tally" thread for you.
