New Intake

Sorry to hear about your printer, what model did you get. I just bout a Creality Ender 3 V2 (had an old wanhoo i3 duplicator collecting dust because could not get good prints out of it). Man has the tech improved ...soooooo much quitter, and much easier to get good prints.
I will let you know if I get my intakes before the 10-12 weeks since you had to cancel :D

What kind of printer do you have? I can't think of a single component on my printer that would cost more than $75 to replace.
MP Select Mini Pro V2. I've replaced the X and Y bearings each, heater cartridge twice, the board fan, the extruder, the hot end and the heat break fan. The latest "compatible" E3D high precision 12V 30W heater cartridge gets the hot end up to 120 and then the printer crashes with this error:

Code:
Connecting...
Printer is now online.
Error:Heating failed, system stopped! Heater_ID: 0
Error:Heating failed, system stopped! Heater_ID: 0

Error:Printer halted. kill() called!
Error:Printer halted. kill() called!

I tried a PID autotune to 210 C which worked, but the cooling fan never turned on and the bowden tube capture nut (not sure what it is called) in the heatsink melted, so now I have to replace that and the heater cartridge. I'm done with this thing.

I'm looking at an Ender 3 S1 now. I like the direct drive, the gantry with the double Z motors and the flexible build mat. As @boosted1g said, the technology has really changed.

The other day Newegg had the S1 for $350 with a $50 Newegg gift card promotion as well.
Already have buyers remorse on the V2. Bought mine and then a few days latter the Neo line came out and other models dropped in price.
At current price point I would have likely gotten the S1. After adding CR-Touch, metal extruder, and eventually the dual Z axis the S1 would be the same total price if not lower.
My V2 has a glass plate which is great for PLA, but already ordered a flexible PEI one so I can print PETG.

Heads up, the printer so far is really good but Creality's manuals are poor and their firmware organization is a disorganized mess (and that is putting it nicely).
Perhaps they have the same engineers doing design and the customer facing stuff :p

I get that. I've had my own moments with that feeling. I try not to get too hung up on missing out on new stuff, because there is always going to be something new and improved.

I'll be back in the intake queue eventually. Maybe next year. Keep buying them so they keep selling!

I had my bluetooth ODB2 logger on while going for some joy rides recently. I think the AFE enclosed intakes work excellently at keeping intake air temperatures pretty low. Sidenote I found out the Racechip GTS seems to peak at 14~15 psi of boost, I'll see if it boost any higher when it gets cooler outside.

Stock boost is 12-14. My car stock with VT snorkels has shown peaks of 15.2 to 15.8. It would seem something isn't right with you showing 14-15.... However you're RWD, so stock is closer to 12 if I recall correctly. Interesting... Both results make me wonder what's up.

Can you recall how cold or hot it was outside when you got 15.2 and 15.8 psi of boost? It's been 90 plus degrees outside here in SC.

shipment update, from 9/11 to 9/2. if i could get them before labor day so i could instlal them over that weekend it would be fantastic

I had a look and it was 80.

Car typically boosts higher in warmer temps as the air is less dense. you can make the same power with less boost in colder temps. When i was running map 2, JB4, 93 octane I would get 17 ish lbs of boost in cold weather and closer to 18-19 lbs in hot NC summer months. Same with Map 7 and water meth. summer months showing peak boost of 23 Lbs, but only gettting 21 lbs in the winter.

Ah, I had it backwards. I need to find a nice clear backroad where I can do a 40mph 3 gear pull. Hard to find places where I can go WOT sometimes lol.

I have the Ender 3 V2 at home and the 5 pro at work with the full enclosure for ABS prints. I use Ultimaker Cura slicer as the Creality slicer doesn't work all that well.

Pro Tip: get the enclosure it really helps.

I'm loving the E3 S1. Prints are coming out fantastic. The 220×220×270 build area is much better than the 120^3 of the MP Select Mini.

Got 16.1 psi coming home from work today.

Thank you for this question. I was about to ask the same question. I ordered my aFe intakes a few days ago and am also seriously considering the mishi IC.

I am running the mishimoto intercooler it fits fine little tight But nothing is touching

Make sure you contact mish for the carb approval sticker. Seems like you have to get in touch with them first, since they don't ship them out automatically.
