New Intake

Installed mine today and have done a heat cycle on the car. Install is a PITA as everything is very tight and hard to work around. I'm use to Mustangs and having space for activities. Alighnment of the various hoses, clamps, and boxes is very precise. If you don't spend a lot of time working on stuff with your hands, I don't recommend this as a DIY. Also, was missing two #032 clamps and had to find some. I thought I inventoried it beforehand but apparently not. I have the dual catch can kit from ADD-W1 and you'll have to rework the hoses from the instructions to get everything to work. Love the way it looks, feels a slight bit of improvement in sport, and extra noise from the engine is nice. Worth it, but I'm never working on my car myself again.
Thanks for the (good?) report, Smilie!

I feel that way almost every time I work on my car, usually somewhere between my second ripped glove, my third surprise bloody knuckle, or my fourth mysterious bruised on my forearm.

But in truth I love it. It's satisfying on a visceral level... keeps me coming back for more. And your install looks really clean. Nice job!

Was anyone with the afe cold air intakes able to get the pre-filters on?

I took the filter out of one of the airboxes and wasn't able to get the pre-filter on. This isn't a big deal for me since no water droplets get in the airbox. Trust me, I've driven in downpour conditions with snorkels on the car.

On the eclipse/talon, I think the 4G portion of 4G63 stood for 4 Gallons of lost blood over the lifetime of working on the engine!

Looks like I get the joy of waiting 12-14 weeks. Guess that gives me time to save up for another mod

So true!

Installed mine Wednesday, it is way quieter than my previous Intake(injen) but I can still hear it with the windows down. Could just be my butt dyno but mid range feels stronger and smoother compared to the injen. This is on stock ecu and tcu. I took my lap3 1.5 off for revisions. I am excited to get it back and compare what the Injen felt like compared to this. I have velossa tech snorkels paired with this and hopefully it will act like a true ram air with the closed box design. Install was tight but not hard at all and did not include the #32 clamps which others have said they didn’t receive also. Install took about 20 minutes. Overall if your looking for a quieter intake I would recommend it

Has anybody posted a video guide on installing these yet? The installation guide that came with them seems straightforward enough but my main gripe is that it’s in black and white.
YouTube has a vid just search AeF cold intake Kia stinger

I think the one on k8 is the 2018-2021. Looks like the 2022 kit includes 1 or 2 extra bits to accommodate the missing stud on the strut tower. It includes what looks almost like an offset double ended stud. You'll see it in the pic at the bottom left along with an extra nut. Also costs like $10 more

Has anyone put in a dual OCC? My Stinger arrives in 2 weeks and wanna start buying both the AeF and AWD Dual OCC.

Not me, I just have a singular Mishimoto OCC.

Welcome to the party!

Single Mishimoto OCC here as well. My AeF charge pipes are still in limbo (had a shipping kerfuffle that sent hem hurtling back from whence they came, just so they could wait in queue to be 'inspected' (even though I never even touched the package...) and then shipped out to me (again)). Better than waiting until mid-August, I suppose, but still highly disappointing...

My present woes aside, I hope you have an amazing time with your Stinger. Tons of helpful folks here. You found a good place to dwell.

Having had this aFe system fitted now for three weeks I can definitely notice how much better the car performs even in normal day to day driving the throttle response & acceleration seem to be much more crisper than before.
Under hard acceleration the car just takes off & no more “breaking” down, it just delivers & wants to keep on delivering, these are a nice upgrade alternative to the mainstream aftermarket intakes & I recommend this system to those that don’t want to go full extreme with intakes.

Do you have anything for logging? I'm interested to compare this intake to a stock intake with VT snorkels. I was recently logging mine and hit 15.2psi of boost with stock ECU/TCU. With Lozic TCU I hit 15.8psi but that was just once and with limited testing.

Don’t have anything for logging since selling my jb4. But it wouldn’t suprise me to maybe pushing a little bit more boost on stock ecu. I also believe I had a little bit of a leak with my Injen intakes because The rubber connectors never felt like they could get tight enough

This may be of interest to some.

Whomever was behind me in the queue, you just moved up one. My 3D printer just died and I had to make a tough decision.
Sorry to hear about your printer, what model did you get. I just bout a Creality Ender 3 V2 (had an old wanhoo i3 duplicator collecting dust because could not get good prints out of it). Man has the tech improved ...soooooo much quitter, and much easier to get good prints.
I will let you know if I get my intakes before the 10-12 weeks since you had to cancel :D

What kind of printer do you have? I can't think of a single component on my printer that would cost more than $75 to replace.
