Never had a car that turned so many heads.

I've had my car for a few months now. Today I was talking to my neighbor (we only talk occasionally) and she said "I see you got a new car, huh? Is this your first time having a Jaguar?"

I said "this is actually a Kia." She was pretty surprised then asked if there was a Jaguar in my driveway recently. No, there hasn't.
Yesterday, a guy knocked on my door (interrupting a nap, by the way, hah). He said that he'd mistaken the rear of my Stinger for the Jaguar F-type, until he got closer and realized it was the Kia Stinger. We talked about the car for a few minutes, and he told me the cars he has collected (including a '68 Camaro and '68 Mustang); and he sounded like a real car collecting nut. Then, he immediately switched gears and turned into a Kirby salesman. My interest vaporized at once. :P

Just in the last two days I got stopped at the grocery and complimented and when I was at a red light someone honked at me and complimented the car and the younger guys in the car asked if I wanted to race lol (the answer was no but thanks lol) and when I went to the dentist the woman who came out to give me my paper work complimented it and talked with me about it.

I’ve never had a car that grabbed so much attention and even though it’s the 2.0t no one seems to mind that which is great, I had an RS Camaro a ways back and people used to turn their noses up to it because it wasn’t an SS or Z28 which never made since to me, if it’s nice it’s nice and this is just what works better for me. But it’s been an awesome experience I love the car and it’s cool to see that other people see that it’s something special also.

Obviously a car girl.

Went to the shops further down the road today, had parked and was sitting inside when looking in the rear view mirror, an older couple got out of their Mazda and the gent was staring at the back of my car. He strode up and looked at the front of the car to catch a look at the front emblem as I have the Stinger script on the back. He looked rather perplexed as he and wife walked off ( have the K badge on the front ) ;)

You know it is a crime in some states to confuse old people like that Flame.

See? Method in Kia's madness: the mystery is spreading and deepening. We must be patient. :)

Yep... a lot of people look at this car in the parking lot... had a guy come up and ask me what car is this? He thought it
was a blue Maserati Ghibli!

Same thing happened to me today at the donut shop. The lady working asked me if mine was one of those "maser....... oh I cant think of what it is called she said". That is where I stopped her and said. No. It is a kia stinger and she then said "oh that is very nice. You made a good choice". I love that so many people are confused by them.

Headed home after running errands.....going down 4 lane divided road 45mph limit......roads are wet and drivers are poor as expected..... I decide to get away from a large SUV n a pickup.....as I pullout accelerating to mid 60s a blue late model BMW comes with. I'm thinking either a challenge or an admirer.......he hangs back but close enough to check me.....lowered 3 series ....probably 2012-14 going by nose grille.. ...he hangs behind for a mile or two and then proceed to make a u-turn......#neckbreaker

My wife and I took our new Stinger GTS to Hilton Head, SC for Memorial weekend. This was our 1st trip in the car. It checked all my buttons for storage, smooth ride, gas mileage, and fun. Anyway we were at the traffic circle waiting in line to take a right to our condo and an older gentleman in a BMW convertible pulled up next to us and said wow that is an amazing color at least 3 times. I just simply responded thank you very much each time. Very cool encounter.

It's a very uncommon car... well at least around here in my area... I've only seen 3 other stingers in the past 6 months!

Maybe we should get a Ghibli badge kit ;) I'd bet it would fool a lot of people! LOL

Funny encounter I had today. I was approaching a stop light when I passed a newer Challenger turning right onto my street (2 lanes)from a gas station. This thing was siiiiick...wrapped matte black and completely murdered out with a rumbling exhaust. Verrry sharp! I stop at the light in the right lane with a couple cars ahead of me. It was a nice day so I had my sunroof open and windows down just out cruisin. I hear what sounds like a wife and husband arguing approaching in the next lane over. I look in my side mirror and it's the Challenger. They move over to the left turn lane and as they pass I hear the women (driver) yell at her man "I'M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW MOTHERF**KA...THAT'S A KIA!" I look over and the guy(passanger) is just shaking his head, leering at the Stinger as they pass. Now they're two lanes over in the left turn lane, kiddy corner to my front bumper. I can hear and see that they're still arguing (she's VERY loud and animated lol). All of a sudden, the Challenger starts to back up and pulls parallel with me. I look over and the lady leans over the guy and yells "EXCUUUUUSE MEEEE...THAT'S A KIA RIGHT??" I said "Yeah..It's a Kia Stinger" The lady looks at her man and yells "SEE MOTHERF**KA I TOLD YOU...DON'T THINK I KNOW SHIT BUT I DO ...IT'S FAST AS SHIT TOO I KNOW THAT!" She looks back at me, smiles and says "THANK YOU BABY...LOOKING GOOOOOD!" she waves and starts to rumble forward. The guy is still staring and shaking his head and quietly says "Damn...that motherf**ka is DOPE!!! That's some deeeeeeep ass red right there!" They turned left and that was that. The sound of their exhaust as they pulled away was GLORIOUS! Cool encounter

In the past four days I've had three encounters with strangers asking me what kind of car it is and being surprised and impressed with the answer. There aren't many of these cars in my town (I've seen maybe 3 or 4 this year), but it's crazy that this car still demands this kind of attention after being on the market for three years. It doesn't help that there are no mainstream badges on mine. Adds to the mystery!

The onlookers who make reference to Maserati/Ghibli are more knowledgeable than the others who think the Stinger is [x], as the inspiration for the Stinger was the original Ghibli according to Guillaume.

Beating a dead horse but I'm starting to blush.....my really good friend has a CPO 2017 or 18 Panamera......beautiful machine......we finish playing golf and I'm loading #YINYANG ...... outta nowhere " your car is looking really good" my jaw drops and I can only reply with "thanks bro"

I leave the course heading home; minding my own business with roof open, windows down.
A pair of challengers (one white , one puke neon green ) are right behind.....the white one gets curious and does the hard drive by ; making a left at the next light. As I proceed through the light a white work pickup is gassing his truck.....I grin but stay the course.....he does it AGAIN! Finally rolls down the window " what kind of car is THAT" ? I return the question with: "what do you think it is" ? Both he and his passenger scratch their heads .......I shout " IT'S A KIA"! jaw drops(you guys know the look) wow we thought .....Maserati or something....looks like 80-90k dollar car! What did it cost? And the conversation continues as we hold up traffic ;-)

I tell him about warranty, other cars I looked at etc, etc.....maybe we should handout pamphlets! 20200427_173124.jpg

My wife and I went out to the Fashion Place Mall parking lot here in Utah where they're selling filets and all kinds of great high quality meats to raise some money for the food bank. We had to wait about an hour to buy and when we finally got to the front the guy was all excited and said "man I've been admiring that Stinger, I really like those things". The annoying lady behind us asked "what's a Stinger?" and he explained it was a car and she asked who made it and didn't believe it was a Kia.

That’s a beautiful car. Timeless looks.

Walking towards my car from the shops this arvo and notice a guy move away from my car. He goes up to a Ute and starts taking pics/vids, then to a Jeep, all the while talking to a friend on his phone. After I put the bags in the car, I walked away towards the pharmacy, he was speaking another language but I clearly heard " stinger ". When I got in the car I checked my dash cam and have footage of him taking pics/vids of the front of my car and the back.
Hoping he is a car enthusiast and not scoping it out for bad intentions :cautious:

I took my car up to Shenandoah National park in Virginia. I was on skyline drive admiring the views. Every few miles there are overlooks with people. I swear every time I pulled in to one I had people staring at the car. I had cleaned it up really nice for the trip and it was sunny so it probably looked really good. I will never get old of this car. The driving experience and the ownership experience are what I love.20200530_113617.webp
