Never had a car that turned so many heads.

Three weeks ago on the way home somewhere in Georgia, getting gas.
Pulling into the station, a fellow exited the store and looked at the car as we were coasting up to the pump.
It was a really good look over, and I was wondering whether I had been too fast for him pulling up.
Anyway, I stopped, got out and saw him getting into his truck.
As I was pumping, his wife stepped out of the cab, came over to my position and asked :"What car is that..my husband wants to know".
I replied " a KIA" and she came back with "which one?" and I said "the Stinger". I smiled, she smiled, thanked me and turned around.
Made my morning.

this thread is the TRUTH! i've only had the car two days and people can't take their eyes off it! I see people looking over their shoulder at lights, slowing down, or speeding up while driving to get a better look. I have already had three guys try to race me also. this is crazy. I am so damn happy I bought this car.

I absolutely love the looks and comments I've been getting in the short time I've had mine. I was forced to drive through a group of younger guys and their cars leaving a Tim Hortons the other week. I was going to just keep going and mind my own business, but a few of them flagged me down to take a closer look.

I do wish the sound of the car more matched the power. There's something to be said for that "sleeper" car, of course. But still, wish there was a bit more of a growl to it. I don't intend on racing the thing on the track all that often, so I can't really justify putting thousands into performance mods, but maybe down the road, I can look at some of the more "image-focused" mods to just have one more reason to turn heads.

After two months of ownership, I had my first gas station experience today. The Stinger was shining in the sun with the windows down and roof open. A man leaving the station in an F-150 stopped and rolled his windows down and said “What is that, a Porsche?”
Mine is debadged. I said “it’s actually a Kia!” We talked for a few minutes and he asked about its performance and speculated that it cost around $50k.
He left with “Man, that’s a good looking car!”
I agree! I can’t stop admiring this thing. That made my day!

I was picking up take out pizza from Papa Johns yesterday and when I was paying the store manager said that is the only color that he liked on that car. So then I assumed he knew what a Stinger is and as we all know most people don't. I told him the orange is a limited color. Then he asked me if I had the big boy. I said oh yea. Throughout the whole conversation he nor I said the word Stinger. Cool encounter!

How often does your spouses roll their eyes back into the head when the next talker arrives? :D
the mrs is the one who does all the selling. the height and size difference between the two of us is jarring. she is under 5 feet tall and I am almost 6' 4" so when I drive the stinger, they all want to race, when she drives, they all hit on her. she thinks its funny as hell. especially when they rev their engines and she bats her eyes, they ease off and she floors it from the light. and she gets upset when I do that! especially the batting the eyes thing!

Had a couple girls in a Tahoe pull up next to me at a stoplight yesterday. Passenger had a big doobie fired up lol. Driver leans over and says "I love your Jaagggg...that thing is sexy as fuuuuuu*k!" Before I could turn down my music to respond, they got the arrow and turned...smoke billowing out of the windows . These kind of interactions are super common...minus the chronic of course. In my experience, most of the women I've had interactions with about the car call it sexy or beautiful and most of the men refer to it as sharp! Couldn't agree more

Like a true car guy, I heard of the Stinger when it came out. I saw it on the internet, read it's rap sheet, respected it, but never considered buying it... until I saw it irl. I was that dude at the gas station. That's when serious consideration started forming in my head. Affordable, high performance, AND in a package that looks this hot? Shut up and take (a moderate sum of) my money!

Not heard the expression " doobie " but I'm thinking it's a " bong " ?

its an older term meaning joint. people of a certain age use that term.. me included

I feel like the amount of people coming up to me complimenting the car has increased. I detail my car a few times a week in between washes to keep the heavy dirt and dust off and I have had several people walk by asking what the car is or telling me how nice it is. I would say every 5th time I fuel up I get people making comments about the car. Usually is something along the lines of "Nice car", "What is that?", "Is it fast?". Every day I drive this car is a treat.

Despite my Stinger looking dusty after fishing with the kids yesterday, my daughter and I went for a hike today. Upon coming back to the car, an older gentleman and his wife was parked a few spots from me getting setup for a bike ride. He walked up to the front of the car and had the look of surprise when he saw the KIA badge. He then said "I didn't know KIA made a car like this! Looks sharp, and I just needed to park near it to check it out." I told him about the Stinger, and I also said that the car doesn't get much advertising (I mentioned the Superbowl). He then said to the effect that "I'm not sure that's a good idea for them not to promote a car like this, but what do I know?". :) Below is a pic of her yesterday. The Ceramic Silver hides the dust from a distance, but she's a dirty girl. ;)IMG_20200510_110202.webp

she's a dirty girl. ;)

My favourite kind!

I have the same colour, and the amount of heads turning to look is amazing.

I mean, I didn't buy a car to impress others, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't like the positive reinforcement

I didn't either. I got the Stniger for me to enjoy. People asking about it and liking it is a side effect I wasn't expecting, but reinforces it for sure. :)

I’ve had the car a little over a month and can’t even count how many times someone has come up to me to compliment it or ask what kind of car it is when I stop somewhere or flag me down at a red light to say something about it or just give a thumbs up. I see people in passenger seats twist all the way around and stare and try to see what kind of car it is constantly. It’s unreal the amount of attention this car gets even when other higher equally or higher priced cars are in its presence.

On my way to pick up carry out tonight, in the rain, a couple in a minivan raced up to me as I was heading towards a light. I stop, they honked at me to roll down my window. They then asked what kind of car do I have. I answered, they nodded, and they turned off when the light turned green. It never ceases to amaze me how many times I get the attention from all kinds of people for this car. :)

I've had my car for a few months now. Today I was talking to my neighbor (we only talk occasionally) and she said "I see you got a new car, huh? Is this your first time having a Jaguar?"

I said "this is actually a Kia." She was pretty surprised then asked if there was a Jaguar in my driveway recently. No, there hasn't.
