Navigation Update V14 due out April 20, 2020

Here's the link to the files: Stinger Nav Upgrade - Icedrive

When you open the link it will show you all 36 files. I was going to make the folder downloadable but with this site it meant that the whole folder would be zipped into one large file. Just highlight all of the files and hit the download button that appears at the top of the page.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much! I'll give this a shot.

Still didn't work for me. I just unzipped all the downloaded files, put them in the same folder I've been using and ran the Kia program to check everything. Instead of dying at like 65% it gets to 90% and just stops there now. Oh well.

The files from Icedrive worked for me, in terms of allowing the program to produce and SD card for me. Now to see if the car will actually accept it. Thanks @JohnL !

Question: I thought that the process would ask for my VIN. I thought that the resulting SD card was supposed to be hard-coded to my VIN, and that's how the copy protection (used to) work. Is all that no longer applicable?

If you're talking about what I uploaded to Icedrive you don't need to do that. Just copy all of the unzipped files to your SD card. The file structure on the SD card should look like the attached picture. You just insert the card in the car (with it off) and do the update. You need to keep the engine running during the update. I didn't time it but I think it takes around 15 minutes.

It never asked for my VIN. I kinda assume that, now that the updates are free, they're not actually linked to a particular car. Perhaps they never were...

For those of you that can't get this to work without any hacks, are you on a Mac (I am)? I wonder if all this comes down to their Mac app being busted.

I never even thought about that. I'm on a Windows 10 PC...

@JohnL I tried to message you, but not sure if I did it correctly. I didn't want to post it here because it doesn't involve a Stinger. I was hoping you could help me with getting the files for a 2016 Kia Sorento SX (USA). I have tried from many different machines, both Windows and Mac, and from different networks, but it continues to fail with unzipping around 39%. I've looked at the logs and cannot seem to determine which file it is failing on. I was hoping you could try downloading the files for a a 2016 Kia Sorento and if you were successful, maybe you can upload the complete files to a repository like you did with the Stinger. I hope this isn't too much trouble. Thank you in advance.

I just started the download. If it's successful I'd be happy to upload the files for you. It's going to take awhile as my d/l speed is only 25mb/sec (yes, megabits) so this 16GB package will take a few hours. I'll let you know whether or not it works.

Thank you so much @JohnL. I really appreciate the help.

What program did you use to compress this?

Edit: had some issues because .z15 (even though it was there) didn't save correctly, apparently. Now that it's there, all my zip programs are happy (on Linux). I needed go to go 7zip to tell me it was .z15 that was bad - the other two I tried were just complaining about random files being bad..

Thanks!

Haha, I've also been trying to do the Sorento. No luck though.

Coincidentally I am also trying to update my Sorento. Would appreciate these files as well. Thanks so much @JohnL !
How'd it go with your Stinger?

What year is your Sorento? The files I'm (hopefully) getting are for 2016-2018.

Btw, I just traded in my 2017 Sorento. My wife put 65K trouble-free miles on it in the 2 1/2 years we owned it. I was really sorry to let that car go. It's the only reason I even looked at the Stinger.

I have a 2017 Sorento so those same files will work. It's a great SUV and got me turned onto Kia. At 30k miles we still have a long ways to go with it.

I won't be able to do the in-car upgrade until this evening but will definitely post back with results!

Think someone said how to download US version, I keep trying and get the korean version -- help

Just run it after it's installed the Korean version. Clicking the settings wheel and switch to US region.

Well, sorry stingerbeagle and kri5topher but my download also stopped at 39%. It looks like VIT_NA__DOT__hafp02 is the problem. I retried multiple times but it just won't work.

Perhaps I just got lucky with the Stinger.
