3.3TT Misfires / Turbo Failure

Per above, yes: it's most audible during light acceleration through the 20-30MPH range as there's not enough road noise to drown out the police siren sound.

Argh, that sucks!!! If there are decent sized metal bits in the intake side, chances are the fins are damaged and the turbo is seized or about to be. At least you caught it before the oil seal blew (it's quite messy). The dealer needs to get a phillips screwdriver and a borescope to inspect the turbo intake (should take 5 minutes), and start by ordering a turbo. Easy for them, visual inspection, fins damaged, new part. What they will not do without reason, is drop the oil pan and look for metal that may have made it through the motor. I highly suggest you press them to do this for your piece of mind. Maybe say, "last time I changed the oil there were bits of metal in it, I think some of it may have made it into the engine."

Regarding the dealer revving the motor, unfortunately you've got to just sit back and let them do their thing. According to the technician at my dealership, Kia Techline advised them to fill the car with oil and take it for a test drive to assist with diagnosing the terrible knocking in cylinders 2, 4, 6, pouring quarts of oil, smoking like crazy. Yep, that was still their troubleshooting step...ensuring more destruction. The dealer tech told me he knew better but that's what he had to do to get Kia Techline justify the motor replacement. o_O

Strange... They're claiming the turbos look perfectly fine and that it seems to be a loose inlet hose somewhere. They're trying to "track it down", but they're saying it's air coming in from somewhere around the BOV making that siren sound... Apparently, they also found something loose around the BOV, so I'm highly suspicious about what the heck is going on.

I would love it to be that simple, but I'm also curious what the hell came loose if it was. We all know for sure I wouldn't have touched anything related to the BOVs except the outlet hose that goes into the intake piping o_O

When I had a lower turbo hose blow, the sound is much more like air rushing in through a slightly open door - it will not give the siren sound. The fact that you managed to recover metal fragments means it is almost certain turbo blades. I think you are right to be suspicious.

Yea, something isn't right. Since there was evidence the intake side of things has been "tampered" with, they did call me out on working on the area. I told them that I did investigate the noise (which is true), and didn't find any loose hoses. I think they're trying to find a way to bill me for the problem even though whatever it is, it's unlikely related to anything I've actually touched overall.

Of course, I need to get my VIN before I contact Kia Corporate as I've locked away the bill of sale and would have to dig that sucker out.

Should be on your insurance card, and any other insurance-related documentation.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

The insurance card is in the car, lmao...

BUT, since you mentioned that, I did start using my insurance's online stuff this year (lol), so I can log into that and likely find it. Thanks!

Will let you know the cost of the motor if I'm able to find out. If the motor swap is going take more than 30 days, I may lemon law the car since this would be the 4th total issue I've had to take it in for in a month and a half (2 mechanical, 2 build quality).

Those turbos are cheapest on the South Korean sites. I was able to find one for 644,000 KRW or $579 USD at the link below. That plus freight should put you around $650.
