Lozic ECU + TCU + AWD Tune

I don’t plan on going 180mph! I think I would rather the mph match up. Oh well NBD.
He can fix it. I am already getting another revision from him and he had no problem putting the 167mph limiter back on, which I am way more okay with than I was the 130mph limiter that my car came with.

Perfect! So stock is 130. Then no limiter is 167. Then tricking ECU is past that. Is that correct?

how do you go about revisions? ive heard he sends you a new ecu then once you get it you send the one you have back, which if true is pretty cool imo. i just got my ecu on friday and its been running okay... no overboosting but sometimes its fast and sometimes it just feels sluggish and ive noticed my fuel pressure dropping to 8 sometimes when wot which is sketch also seems like the boost ready is kind of glitching on and off!

No, ONLY cars that came with the winter weather package are limited to 130ish mph. (225/r18's all around instead of 225/R19 in front and 255/R19 in the rear) The cars without it have the factory limit of 167. Unfortunately, as you have seen as well, to trick the ECU's to have a limiter go past 167 you have to do speed scaling. Which if you really don't want a limit on your car is fine as the car still travels and displays the correct speed in the Dash and HUD, but on your logs it will be all kinds of funky. Now, if you where to see my post history, you would see me whining and bitching about the 130 limiter I have on my stock ecu, as its a really lazy solution. However the 167 factory limiter is totally fine with me personally as 167mph is a LOT harder to hit than 130 is. Hell, I have a stretch of road that is perfectly straight and level (within 2 degree's or so) that is almost a mile and a half long less than 5 minutes from my house (which is totally in Mexico) that I have banged off the 130 limiter Many, many times and still had at least half a mile before I even needed to begin lightly braking. its the perfect section of road for logging too, as its easy to get to, you can see all the way to the other end, AND it has only two places cops can "hide" on it, both of which not only are in the wide open, but also mark the start of the acceleration zone and the start of the braking zone. Almost like it was designed for higher speed testing lol.

That is exactly how revisions work. Would you mind sharing a log of a run you have done here? Ive looked at enough of them to be fairly confident in reading them at this point. As for the sometimes it being fast and sometimes being sluggish, is that when you are launching, or are you rolling into hard acceleration? cuz if its from launch, you really have to know the max RPM to let off the brake on to truly go fast. You and I both have the Tork Stage 1 TCU, so if you are AWD, (depending on your tires) let off the brake right after you hit 2600rpm, by the time your foot releases you will be at about 2700, which should put you between 6-8lbs of boost. any higher and you will just be doing a 4 wheel burnout, any lower and you will feel like you are using the stock TCU. if RWD, Tork recommends 2300-2400 but it entirely depends on your tire setup and if you are on a drag strip or not.

as for the boost ready issues, can you describe what you are experiencing in more details?

Im AWD. I shouldnt of used sluggish as that may insinuate im bogging but ive noticed the power band has changed which is figured, its just sometimes when i drop it down to third and floor it, its fast then other times is like map 2 on the jb4 which i imagine is due to variations in my fuel pressure and timing the log i attached is the only one i have on my phone as i do most of my logging on the ipad but everything on that log looks good except for fuel pressure. But i also have logs where timing is shooting up to 5.5 which is WAY to high as for the boost ready idk if you have it for all rpms but i do and even on light throttle i hear the turbos and intakes but sometimes its almost as if its stops for a sec then turns back on its hard to explain without hearing it, idk if thats notmal for boost ready as before you never heard turbo noises or intakes on light throttle while crusing at 15-30 mph

I think I know what you are describing. rapid on and off cycling almost? almost like stu-stu-stu-stu- as if the wastegate is open and closing very fast? How long have you had your tune?

Edit - I would send longer ones to lozic and see what he says, this log looks fairly clean, but with its hard to know consistently. try to take note of where you get your gas and find a good station that you know you can get consistently good gas from. Also, I would disconnect your battery for a half hour or so to try and reset the adaptive, then drive 50 miles or so and take another log.

I got it on friday the 17th, and yea thats probably whats going on as im pretty sure it went away when i turned ewg wires back on through the jb4

My fuel should be an issue as i run shell 93 with 4-5 gallons of e85 I practically get 0 timing corrections on map5

Also have you found the sweet spot on the powerband with the tune? It used to be 3rd gear 3-5k rpm but now it seems as 4th gear is quicker

I know lozic tune is based off of 4th gear.

Also I think the fuel is crashing because that is a little too much Emix. Try to top off with just 93 and see what you get. If I go over 3.5 gallons my pump will crash as well.

Alright, I had the same issue with my Tune at first, have lozic set boost ready to be over 2200rpm, which should solve the problem when just cruising. with it set on all the time, the car seems to try and boost via its regular profile and the boost ready one at the same time from my experience which may be the cause of it. I also think you should try running only 3 gallons of e85 and see if that levels out your numbers as @Pearly said.

I went from always on to only on above 3,300rpm and I have loved it. I am tempted to try 2,200 as everyone recommends it. But honestly not sure what advantage it would give me.

Ive ran the same mix for over a year on the jb4 with 0 issues fph never dropped below 10 and rarely below 11 so i imagine it has to do with the tune

Do you have a tuned TCU? if not, then it allows you to build boost using LC, if you do, then you would only notice the boost come on quicker on lower RPM. having it on at 3300 is so high into the rev range that you may as well not have it on at all, as you are already at near stock max boost levels at that point if you go WOT.

I like it on at that time for roll races. It boost quicker.

I’m actually wondering how you guys using the throttle when launching with lozic tcu. Do you guys floor both pedal then release the brake at optimal rpm immediately? Or less throttle to build boost and rpm and then floor the gas and release the brake at the same time?

From my understanding, I think people with boost on feature feather it while braking and build up boost/rpm then releasing brake/flooring it.

Me, I have boost off so I floor both till I reach desired rpm and let off brake and launch (which seems better for me due to boost off)

Do you just keep the pedal to the floor all the time? or will it stop building and hold at whatever RPM you desire till you let off the brake?

So,

Complete stop.
- Firm Brake
- Sport mode - traction/stability off
- Floor the gas as the rpm quickly rises and release brake when reached desired rpm.
So flooring it for about a second or two max until release of brake.

alright, so it works the same way the tork tcu works. I am going to talk to lozic about implementing a potential feature that could benefit pretty much all of us, especially for the ones going to drag strips.
