Can someone explain why the LEASE BUY OUT option is dead over paying cash for the car no loan no interest? On the Current 2022 GT2 at $3900 lease incentive
With lease buyout owner ends up paying 1000 more in fees and if financed, then whatever interest it comes out depending on bank. So it can be 1000 for cash buyer and 4000-5000 for someone who is financing. If you subtract those from rebate then you might not be saving any money at all vs financing at 0% from kia with some other incentive.
Just to give you some background, I have got 6.5k lease cash on mine (in Dec 2018 for 2019 model) and my friend got 9.9k lease cash (in June 2019 on 2019 model).
Kia will not discount them, as manufacturers discount had expired.
It’s on the dealership to discount and sell them.
When i was on my hunt last summer, was contacting many dealerships that had leftover 2019 models. None of them wanted to go much below the 2020 model.
They all told me they can get the same price sending the car to the auction house.
I even thrown out $500 less, supposedly what the manger had said he can get at auction and for him to bypass the auction house fees and paperwork, etc. he still said no.
but in the end it worked out better for me, able to research the lease buyout method and got an awesome deal

July's incentives are the same as last month - $3,900 for the RWD GT2, $2,400 for the RWD GT1.
For 2021 models, it looks like the lease incentive has been removed. KIA has been pulling incentives on past model years once the new model year is around for at least a few months.
Looks like the Sept. lease incentive for AWD GT2 is $5250 (at least in my zip). Getting close to my desired range. That would put Oct. around $6500 (most likely, unless they hold it). If I can find a dealer willing to actually discount down to $51-$52K, it would make sense to make a move.
Where can you find the current incentives from the Kia website? When you go to their site and click on "Offers", all you get is some of their finance deals, but if you actually click on an available car and select "Calculate Payments", it shows the appropriate incentives (lease cash, etc.).
I know you can see the current incentives on autobytel, but I wanted to see them in an official Kia page so that when I go to the dealer I can refer to those when the time comes. I'm waiting for the Scorpion that I ordered to arrive.
The "Calculate Payments" area is the only place to view the lease cash. If you'd like, you can print screen that page and give it to the dealer.
Since the cash incentives are provided directly from the manufacturer, the dealer can't/won't cut you short on any lease cash incentives. What you'll need to do is make sure the dealer isn't tacking on any unnecessary fees or dealer-installed add-ons so you get a fair price.
Lease incentives stayed the same this month for the GT2 and increased a whopping $50 for the GT1. The expiration for these incentives is two months instead of the usual one month - so they're locked in until January.
