Kia Stinger Rear Hatch Rattle

yep foam tape time I hate to do that but when you down half your day in the car it's driving me nuts it has been at Kia twice now for the gate and kit nut it still rattles maybe time for a call to my VIP service line
I put the foam tape on too. Seems to be working. Dealer said I'm the only one with the rattle problem. Knows nothing about a second fix for the original TSB that didn't work.

Got the SA 322A two days ago. This was my second trip to the dealership to have the rattle resolved. The dealership said they test drove the vehicle and that I was good to go. As I left the dealership I still heard the rattle. I did not go back to the dealership because I brought my car in the dealership at 10am and did not get it back until 2:30pm, so I was in no mood to be waiting again. I tried the foam DIY solution mentioned in this thread and so far no rattle. However, I still fully intend for Kia to resolve this.

I guess kia is not in any hurry I've been in twice also and yet I have bloody foam tape on the stops so I don't have to hear it all day long great for a 50k car

mine still rattles, haven't gone back to the dealer, still mad they put metal clamps and ripped my paint

I figure if all the new cars recently sold do not have this rattle then simply outfit ours with the exact same parts! No need then to add washers and spacers. That's apparently just a half ass fix.

This is the second time I take my car to the dealer for the same noice problem. The first time the said it was a recall and they fixed, but after a month the noice came back again . They said they don’t know from where the noice is coming from, they try everything. Is really bothering me when I’m driving. I’m not enjoying my car any more. I don know what to do

I have owned many cars and never had a continuos rattle. It is not a slight rattle. I have commonly owned Toyotas and have never had rattles when driving. I do not think you have the same noise in your car. I am sure Kia are happy that you do not mind if your car rattles when you drive. The idea that defects in cars such as persistent loud rattle from the truncK is acceptle is the real joke! I hope you never get the issue on your new car.
I'm agree with you a 100%. I had the same problem since the day I got my car and is really annoying, it go over your music and phone calls.
My friends noticing to, when they ride with me. you do not expect something like that to happen in a luxury car. I took my car to the dealer for the nine time already in one year, because of the rattle noise. the last thing I got told was that the chemical used for the window tint cause that rattle to happened and they cant not fix it because I lost the factory guarantee.

dealers are idiots on this issue , you need to contact Kia USA directly and file a complaint , tint does not void the warranty !!

That is a load of BS from the person who told you that.

The "chemical" was most likely soapy water. So they are telling you that soap and/or water getting on the car made it rattle?

Did you laugh in their face and ask to speak to someone else?

So I'm taking a different approach since its pretty clear the issue is the hatch latch. I've purchased some rubber feet that you would add to the bottom of furniture and sticking them to the contact point that the rear rubbers seat against. I just added them today and will followup with my results.

2 days of rattle free driving so far with this solution but I haven't had a cold day yet and those are usually the worst so I'm waiting for one of those before I consider this to be a solution to the problem.
