Kia Stinger Navigation Map Update

As always, I plan on purchasing v14 when it comes out and will report back any changes.

I just updated my map for the 1st time since buying the car June 2018. Took about 25 minutes to complete. Before and after:

I bought the map update for $35.00 plus shipping from Kia's map site mapnsoft.com it came in the mail in two days.it was a SD card. Swap out the old and put in the new directions included. Works super with me AA. Also it allows texting by voice. Mine is a 2018 GT1 RWD, RED and BAD.

wish they would let you use your own SD card. The AA software update alone is worth it.

Think you can use your own SD card, on the update website it gives you the specs for SD card. You can download and install on new SD card. I bought a card a while back, and was waiting for latest update to finish.

Is the "Spring 2020" (version 14) actually out yet or is there a COVID-delay of it?

@MyHarpoon - what did you think you were getting? A very recent update or the one from late last year? Unfortunately, the "consumer version number" does not appear in any of the sea of numbers shown in the car.

I wish I could get this upgrade just for that feature. But my car does not have the navigation.
I have asked my dealership before about any updates, but there aren't any.

For those of us in Canada, who get "free" updates, the new version 14 was made available in April, but the download site is offline for some extended period of time. You can ask to be notified when they get it back up and running, or pay $30 to have a physical card shipped to you. And no, the Canadian software will not work on a US vehicle...

No, once the download is available it's an installer that puts the update on whichever you're using.

I had no expectations for a certain version. I was on the original version so I'm sure I received more updates than I can count.

You can now. Back when that comment was made, the only way was through Kia Mapnsoft.
It's still the same situation for the US market, our Canadian neighbors can now download the new version for free and use their own SD card.

I just checked the mapnsoft site, put my vin in, my total is $25 + shipping? I'll pay that to go from 12.whatever I've had since I bought the car in 2018. I use CarPlay anyway but for $25, why not?

No link for me anymore, maybe because I already got it. Not sure. Your dealer might be able to help out.

Nothing has changed (for months, so it must be pretty amazing "enhancements" they are undertaking /sarcasm OFF). This is what you get when you try to download the update (in Canada, where it's supposed to be free):

Seems like it might make sense for Kia to await any impending CarPlay updates that Apple might release soon ...
