Kia Stinger GTS

It's expected soon, Spring 2019.

Is that true? What N trim Hyundai model is getting a more powerful version of the 3.6tt, a new (superior?) AWD transmission, and better suspension for a car as heavy as the Stinger? Are they doing a G70/G80 N?
......just read that Genesis wont be adopting th N program , but that Bierman has 2 new "N car" projects in the works I think one maybe be an SUV

I’d like to see a source for this that’s not your sales guy.

Limited-edition Kia Stinger GTS gets all-wheel drive with a drift mode

The rest of the changes aim to make the GTS feel slightly aftermarket. It gets an exclusive Federation Orange paint job, a Stinger emblem on the rear, and a rear GTS badge. Kia also gave the GTS real carbon fiber on the hood, side mirror caps, and side vents. Inside, the GTS is equipped with a Chamude headliner, an Alcantara steering wheel and center console, a wireless smartphone charger, a 720-watt Harmon/Kardon sound system, and a sunroof.

The more I read into this, could be the vents, or the entire hood. I can't quite confirm. I think I read it wrong, but I'll let others chime in on what they think

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Correct. I've ran the car through KDS and do not show any codes that would make the vehicle unsafe/unfit to drive. Everything functions as it should.

That's very interesting. No issues at all? Or warning lights?

I doubt it'd be the whole hood. Vents would make sense, cost wise.

I can't imagine an SUV transmission would be any sportier than the Stinger's. Is the other project the Sonata N that was recently announced? Because I wouldn't think parts for a cheaper FWD Sonata would be desirable in the Stinger either. I'm not seeing anything that implies Kia would have access to a more appealing transmission/suspension/engine tune that they could simply drop into a low-production trim of the Stinger.

well.. if it is launching in a few months i won't do it. maybe i'll just wrap mine then!

No warning lights. It drives just like normal. Each car is different, so I can't speak for other people's experiences.

I'd imagine you are correct. Considering they already have the hood vents in S. Korea as a factory option...I'd be blown away if it's a full CF hood.

Yeah CF ON the hood. They are talking about the vents.

The odds of that are about as good as the dealer doing a 6MT swap for you.

I'm not sure that the comparison is apt. A transmission swap between manual and automatic is not a simple task and has multiple implications aside from adding/deleting a clutch & pedal.

My previous car was a 2012 Camaro SS and there were a boatload of aftermarket performance upgrades available from the manufacturer that, at least when installed by a GM-authorized shop, kept original factory warranties intact. You could order 1LE, ZL1, and Z28 hop-ups and bolt them on. The majority of modifications here are programming, possibly some sensors we may not currently have. The other major one is the LSD. But, I'm not familiar with Hyundai/Kia when it comes to factory performance upgrades (from the sound of it, they are new to it themselves). I would love to have the opportunity to disable the AWD system through the rotary dial and drive the car closer to how Biermann intended.

I couldn't tell ya. Maybe it's a base GT? We only have speculation here.
You don't know that the GT2 has all the options of the GT1 as standard? The "nannies", all of them, and then they threw in HUD as standard. There is no such thing as a "base GT2": the only options (may be different on the MY19) are heated steering wheel and AWD.

Headliner needs to be full Alcantara to match steering wheel. I know it's an expense but disappointing that headliner is a different material.

Well, when all is said, the only really important thing is the ORANGE. Everything else is just so much add on stuff. Without the ORANGE none of this would be getting the first piece of attention: especially since the "drift mode" (what else can you call it?) is already a change in the new AWD coming out.

I agree, but for different reasons. In my case orange completely rules this car out from ever getting a spot in my garage. Bright colors are way too 'teenage tuner-boy' for me to take them seriously. It would have been super cool if they did a matte color on the GTS instead

I'd rather no suede or alcantara wheel. Sure, it looks and feels great but it gets dirty real quick and then matted and kinda gross.

It's a shame that Americans just sat back and let the car industry roll us over with boring paint to the point that 75% of new car sales are black, white, silver or grey. How is orange associated with teenage tuners when the only orange cars I see on the road are some Subaru CUV model and Dodge Challengers? To me the only thing tunery about the Stinger are the fake hood vents, and we all have those.

Genesis isn't getting a performance version anytime soon. They want to get a foot hold in the luxury game first. With that said the next N car is going to be a Tucson, already confirmed by Bierman himself. The second I believe is the Halo N car they are making to show off what they can do that will be a high performance Hybrid vehicle. Lastly N is currently working on a DCT to put in their future cars that is performance oriented. So the DCT they have now will NOT go into any of their "performance" vehicles.
