Kia Stinger GTS

The interior pictures I've seen show the GT2 shifter, wireless charging and I thought I could make out cooled seats. Are they mixing all the trims to create the GTS? Interesting approach to creating a limited edition - price it cheaper than the highest 'standard' trimline

I hope that coding can at least be applied to previous model year cars! RWD at least.

I would not hold your breath. No manufacturer is going to undermine sales of a new version by giving away unique features to existing owners.

I agree, but just like ECU tuning thats all this will really be. Just new coding within the ECU, new perimeters, limits raised etc.

One can hope. It's a limited 800-count run, so I would hope that a dealer reflash of the ECU, LSD installation, and maybe other programming downloads could be applied while maintaining factory warranty. There is definitely a market for it....

Can anyone confirm that this is a MY2019? The Kia press release oddly doesn't say. About half of the publications are reporting it as a 2020. Either way, this should put some further negative pressure on the MY2018's that are leftover.

The odds of that are about as good as the dealer doing a 6MT swap for you.

No, it doesn't even have built in navigation judging by the infotainment screen (shows climate control on the left side of the screen)

It does have a "Map" and "Nav" button

But it does look like it doesn't have the Surround view camera or the HUD which is disappointing

Now they need a green one so someone can take a shot of a full rainbow coalition of Stingers. Personally I don't care for alcantara steering wheels or the fake carbon fiber bits but kudos to anyone who gets one and adds a little color to the roads.

So, when are they offering this in a color that is still palatable to someone NOT trying to stand out at the office? I think my wife would never stop teasing me if I got an orange car. And yet, the want for D-AWD is strong.. I can live without nav. Would probably want the cooled seats, though..

I'd be surprised if this didn't trickle down to the full spectrum in the next model year (or two). As for everyone noting the lack of options, has anyone seen anything to suggest that the full option package won't be available? Anything I've seen simply states starting at $47,495 - nothing to say that you can get it optioned the same as a GT2.

Agree on both counts. Personally, I wouldn't pay extra for the carbon fibre "look". I'd really like to see a nice forest green metallic. Not enough green cars available for my liking - I've owned cars of pretty much every colour except green - I need to complete the rainbow.

Not sure how you can determine HUD or surround view from that pic. The HUD would not be visible from that angle, and the infotainment display is the same as my GT2 which has every option including NAV.

That said, at that price point, it must be missing some of them.

It's also visibly a mocked-up image. Anything that isn't in writing is pure speculation!

Unless they are making new parts the CF parts should be real CF.
