• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

Only on my third tank of 91 fuel but just went for a cruise in eco mode of an hour sitting on around 80 kmh and using 8.9 l per 100 according to the readings on the dash. Have some of the dash info setup so it clears and restarts at the start of each trip. Done just under a 866km with an average fuel consumption of 10.6. Not sure why some of you are going to use 95 or 98 Oc fuel on some fillings. What do you think will happen can you tell please. I noticed in the manual that it advises to add a fuel additive each 10000 km. I’m guessing thats to help clean the injectors or is for some other reason?

I thought that was for countries that don't have good fuels. Putting a tank of 98 in now and then will clean things a little more. I don't know, but that's what I'm doing.

We have the best fuel in the world.......... (I want to rev people up)

Hi Terra I think the only thing getting a clean out would be your wallet mate. Didn’t you like what your mate John Cadogan stated about 91 or 98. I’m a bit confused seeing you put the link up to his video.

Sure did, but I don't mind........

So, for my benefit....as I'm a little slow..... (and it does look fab)

You removed the KIA badge off the back and replaced it with the large stinger script. This covered all of any/no holes left when the KIA badge was removed? No white vinyl stickers, bog, makeup or photoshop?

You also removed the small stinger script without a problem?
It only just covers the holes on the back has to be in 100% the correct spot. The smaller stinger badge was the easiest to get off.

Ahh, so a little silicon in the holes as well perhaps if it "only just covers" them. Can you do a close up photo of the alignment? Please?

Kia Motors America website image of a flat glass infotainment screen . No plastic bezel?

Also note the different horn badge outline font only not solid white text.

Hi all,
Test drove a Stinger GT with Motorama at Moorooka on Saturday and I'm absolutely smitten, will be smacking down an order once I know what my employment situation is past December (contract work is great for that :P), but I have some questions. Is it possible to special order a Stinger GT in Panthera Metal? I note that this colour only appears to be available on the S and Si trims, but not on the GT trim, which is a shame because it's an absolutely stunning colour. Also the lack of the brown leather option is disappointing as I quite liked the pictures Kia released of the brown interior. Also, has anyone gotten a more firm date on availability of the louder exhaust? The stock item is just too dang quiet haha.

@BodenM the another person at my dealership ordered a GT in Panthera Metal with red leather place a $30000 deposit and they placed the order without doing their home Work. Car arrived last week in Micro Blue with black leather. Obviously the person was very pissed and wanted to cancel the order but when he was told he would not get a car until next March he kept the order. He wanted to place a special order for the Panthera Metal but was informed Kia would not do an order for this colour in a GT only S or SI for Australia market at this stage. This person wanted to do a swap with me but I don’t like the Micro blue. He is now thinking about getting an Si and swapping things around. He has lots of money. I told him to buy one in NZ and transport it to Australia. Skyguy is your order for a GT in Panthera Metal with red leather? The bimodal exhaust should be available in January and no you can not get the brown leather in Australia.

Getting a 5mm red pin stripe on the rear this week. Company doing it in vinyl but they would not do the front air splitter as they stated the vinyl won’t adhere to that kind of rubber plastic very well so getting it sprayed red instead. Will add pics when done.

Can they spray the splitter with Plast Dip red ? That stuff goes on anything and is removable , actually you could do it yourself , check out youtube for application tips , looking forward to seeing the results !

Ordered new number plates today, bark blue with white numbers. A friend of mine has got vinyl sticker plates printed up on reflective vinyl and they look the business so I’m going to get printed as well. They are not completely legal but as they are the same size and have the same reflection the police don’t worry about it to much. He just has the original plates in the boot just in case there is a problem.

Went to paintshop today and they removed the front air splitter ready for painting as the same colour as the red Brembo brake callipers. Also removed the small stinger badge from the back ready for when the large one I ordered arrive. Placed the small stinger badge on the left dashboard to see what it looks like. It’s a little tacky for me but what do you think?
