• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

Bodenm the another person at my dealership ordered a GT in Panthera Metal with red leather place a $30000 deposit and they placed the order without doing their home Work. Car arrived last week in Micro Blue with black leather. Obviously the person was very pissed and wanted to cancel the order but when he was told he would not get a car until next March he kept the order. He wanted to place a special order for the Panthera Metal but was informed Kia would not do an order for this colour in a GT only S or SI for Australia market at this stage. This person wanted to do a swap with me but I don’t like the Micro blue. He is now thinking about getting an Si and swapping things around. He has lots of money. I told him to buy one in NZ and transport it to Australia. Skyguy is your order for a GT in Panthera Metal with red leather? The bimodal exhaust should be available in January and no you can not get the brown leather in Australia.

Nah bro. Black leather. I’m not sure if we get the red leather in NZ, but definitely get the Panthera Metal in the GT.

I take your point. Now don't the less than GT models have a 7" display instead of 8"? I'm not saying that one of these is showing a 7" , instead it could be a publicity image from an early pre-production mule that has been photo-shopped. If you look closely, the bezel looks oddly trapezoid including the icons. If you zoom in, it almost looks like it's cut and paste.

Went to paintshop today and they removed the front air splitter ready for painting as the same colour as the red Brembo brake callipers. Also removed the small stinger badge from the back ready for when the large one I ordered arrive. Placed the small stinger badge on the left dashboard to see what it looks like. It’s a little tacky for me but what do you think?
Stinger on Lh dash; don't mind that im going to have one left over to. I say lets do it.

I was thinking the same thing but the lower spec models with a 7" screen still have the plastic bezel albeit a larger one so I'll go with your mule theory.

Not that any of this really matters, it's just another reason to talk about the car and any excuse to do that is good thing in my book!

Especially when you have potentialy months to wait. Chewing the fat and hearing valuable info from the lucky few stinger receipients makes life bearable....must....keep.....believing.....

I'm not commenting on whether I think it's tacky - it's your cheap whore....whoops, car....

Has Madman turned into Angryman. It’s only a ? mate. Was after honest feedback.

One thing I forgot to mention. When not in use the front passenger seatbelt buckle knocks on the inside of the plastic B pilled when driving around. I noticed it a number of times now. I have checked that the belt is fully retracted and it is. It’s quite annoying. Looking a placing something on the buckle to reduce the noise when it hits the plastic cover. Anyone else noticed this problem?

Mine is quiet just like my exhaust...........

Maybe your driving style......

Was at my dealer this morning and the other persons Micro Blue GT was there. He was driving at around 70 kmh when hit a small wallaby on the front left side. Was very surprised by the amount of damage it caused. Didn’t get a chance to take a photo but has completely stuffed all the left side of the front bumper. It didn’t just deform the plastic it cracked it from top to bottom in a number of areas the left brake inlet vent was also smashed and missing parts. As you can imagine he is very upset and to make things worse parts MIGHT be available in January and not sure about getting the original paint colour. I guess that’s the problem with having a first run model of a new car from another country.

Just seen that the website Caradvice.com are doing a live show at 8 pm tonight where they are going to put a stinger on a dyno to see how much power it has. Facebook page.

Yep Terra that orange is insane and loving those rims. The WCC looks a bit disappointing in that boring blue and not overly keen on the rims. There are some better shots of both cars especially the orange one on YouTube.

Ok you lot the red paint work and pinstripe has been done. Let me know what you think. Yes I know I should have washed it first. The red is the same colour as the brake calipers.
