Ever figure out why you had to bend your brackets and others did not? Tab on the pipe just mounted too low?

Not sure man why ... not sure if the down pipes I got the brackets were welded at a different angle not sure why .... I did get a new set of brackets from SSR that are not bent so I am going to try to fit them to see why the issue is ... need to look into it ...

No. You can hear the pipes in the cabin at cruising speed but only with the radio off or set to very low volume.

Just a little update. The gods may not want me to install these but I'm not giving up. So a local car place agreed to install them for me this morning. I got there dropped the car off and got a call from them a few hours later asking me to stop by. Turns out I receive 2 of the same side pipes. We were turning the pipes every which way and finally figured it out. SSR Performance will be overnighting the correct ones which is cool, but it seems to be one thing after another trying to get these installed. Now they won't install them because the car place had second thoughts about removing the secondary cats (I'm clueless with car talk so weird writing secondary cats, but I'm learning :-) ) Anyways, I may just have to use those things that I bought from Home Depot and do it myself. OMG! Venting over, thanks!

Hey, on the upside you'll have some new tools and probably end up out of pocket for less than it would have cost to have them installed - win/win!

I finally got the SSR Competition Downpipes installed. I woke up at 3am and started working on it before the family woke up (incognito). I jacked up the car, looked under at the work ahead, and said no way i'm doing it :-) Ended up finding a place on Craig's list that was local and wouldn't mind removing the stock pipes with the secondary cats. Not the most professional place but the mechanic was totally awesome! I brought the pictures along with me of the little black bolt, etc. and he laughed at me, but they came in handy. He got the job done no problem except that there wasn't enough room to removed the stock pipes without undoing a few other bolts toward the muffler to move thing s back making more room up front to remove the stock pipes. Took 1 hour and $100. Not bad and i returned the tools that i bought from Lows.

Like others described, the car sounds like it's in sports mode all the time now. I'm good with that. I think that a hear a little rattling when stepping off the gas and slowing to a stop. We'll see. Thanks for the feedback. I think i'm done messing around with it except for adding the Stinger lettering emblem on the back. Just want to get that painted in black first. Kia said they would add it on for me.

Feel much difference acceleration wise?

Feel much difference acceleration wise?
I really didn’t drive the car long enough with the stock pipes for a good comparison performance wise. Soundwise, it’s like the car is in sports mode most of the time. It’s good but would be nice if it were a little quieter at times. Not annoyingly loud or anything. I don’t have any other performance mods.

No check engine light issues with just the downpipes and have ARK grip exhaust?? Sorry I'm not engine smart.

I have the SSR Performance down pipes installed on my Stinger and if you compare the factory vs SSR it's very easy to see where all that HP comes from. The stock DP's are flattened to an oval shape almost the entire length and are a smaller diameter to start with. SSR's DP's are full round and way bigger. Big low end torque gains. I have all the bolt on's and the LAP3 at 93 setting. I don't have access to a dyno but the HP's listed above would make sense. Stock turbos aren't going to get you to 500 WHP but they will get you close. Upgraded FMIC would probably help some too.

So, with ssr downpipes installed, you have no check engine light issues??

They’re midpipes, not down pipes so they’re installed behind the primary cats or “cat back” just like an exhaust. So no codes.

No codes here either. Also, when taking my foot off the gas, I’ve been getting some gurgles. Very quiet gurgles, but gurgles. Anyone else?

Edit: stock cat back.

I hear them randomly as well. With Thermal and SSR mid-pipes.

I only have the midpipes and also hear something like a gurgle when taking the foot off the gas and going slow. Thought it might be something loose but only hear it when off the gas and going slow.
