I got to hear the SSR with stock exhaust in person and is significantly quieter than the Ark with stock CATs in place. I swapped my Arks mufflers to make it more quiet and still not nearly as quite as the stock stinger with just SSR dps.
I may have to make the keep the SSR or keep the Ark decision but also may look for a spot to slip in another resonator. Once you have those big beautiful Ark pipes you don't want to give them up!

OK I put about 130 miles on them tonight and my disappointment (in the sound) has deepened. I'm not going to have them removed just yet, I'll give it a month or so and see if the sound changes for the better. I mentioned here before how I hated the Ark too at first but eventually it ended up sounding great.

What I'm NOT disappointed in is the performance, the gains are definitely there. I had to recalibrate my right foot since it feels like all hesistation/lag is gone now. It's insane how fast it takes off and how hard it pulls. IF I end up removing them, I'll miss that extra power for sure.

It's practically impossible to get a good exhaust clip but here's one to give you an idea of the increased volume:

Sounds fine to me and doesn't seem excessive. If you really hate it, I'd keep the down pipes for the performance gain.

He is an Ark Grip catback which is semi loud to begin with.

It's possible that you just got used to the sound of the Arks, but it may be that the sound characteristics changed as whatever Ark uses for baffling in the mufflers went though an initial 'bedding in' period. It's likely that any further auditory changes from them, if any, are going to be small.

Chances of the same 'break-in' happening with the SSR downpipes are zero to nil - there's nothing in those except hollow tubing ...

It basically sounds like a louder stock exhaust. It’s noticeably louder when accelerating, but not loud IMO. No noticeable sound when cruising unless you’re at around or above 70-75mph. But even the. It’s just a slight exhaust sound, but not drone.

probably not. I am going to be honest those numbers are most likely inflated just to boost sales and market them. Also the 30whp can vary from dyno and mustang dyno.

Well, my "old f@rt dyno butt" makes me feel a horse power increase, for sure, a quality sensation from the low band RPMs. Not so the exhaust sound promised by the manufacturer.
