A little bit boring in black?
Sound is not as loud as I feared!
I did not test the performance yet.

I considered the red pipes, but decided I prefer the OEM look of the wrinkle black pipes.A little bit boring in black?

Agree the Black Injen’s are less conspicuous but you can’t hide the sound so it’s a little counterproductive. Instead of trying to hide them you might as well get the Red to wear them “loud and proud” lol.Black Injen =Sleeper Mode. Pair them with all Black Velossa Tech Big Mouths. Woo..oohhh...ooosssshhh.
Have no fear

Who’s making DIY shields? Or are you talking about generic shielding like Spectre makes?this looks like pretty much the same as the DIY shield
Great Question! In general, the main reason I can see to go with an actual "professionally designed" CAI is for decent heat shielding...

Thanks Wash! I saw in the 0-60 thread, you used to have K&N drop ins. Did you shave .2 seconds off compared to the drop ins or stock? And any idea what you're running now, 0-60?DIY is just about the same as an Injun....knocked 2 tenths off my 0 to 60....what more could one ask for ? 90 bills verses 400/500 ? don't be foolishWash
Maybe, maybe not. Injen has been making intakes for a long time, and design them with a specific curve geometry and variable tubing diameters - presumably using a flow bench. That can make a considerable difference at different RPMs, and may very well be a factor in how they perform. Their published dyno numbers are certainly impressive, and they look (and sound) good as well.Stungblue has a great mod that works as good as the injun...
Money isn't the only consideration - otherwise I'd be running black stamped steel wheels for my winter tire set ...![]()
Much as I'd love to have my azz kissed, I don't think I'll be at the Texas Motorplex any time soon. I just got back from a week's work in Desoto (outside Dallas), and the heat index was 108F/42C while I was there.EXACTLY money is no object for me either........if Injun intakes out do these DIY's ill kiss your azz on the starting line at TexasmotorplexWash
