Intake Comparison

A little bit boring in black? :D
Sound is not as loud as I feared!
I did not test the performance yet.

Wooshhhhh
I considered the red pipes, but decided I prefer the OEM look of the wrinkle black pipes.

Perfect blend of looks and sound for me - the sound is pretty much in the background until you put your foot into it. Good engineering on Injen's part - everything fit perfectly as intended, no hose cutting required, and installation was a simple and easily reversible process (should that ever be desired).

Damn, you guys are making me jump in on the Injen....there's Canada's day sales going on so I should take advantage.....

Black Injen =Sleeper Mode:devil:. Pair them with all Black Velossa Tech Big Mouths. Woo..oohhh...ooosssshhh. Have no fear:)
Agree the Black Injen’s are less conspicuous but you can’t hide the sound so it’s a little counterproductive. Instead of trying to hide them you might as well get the Red to wear them “loud and proud” lol. I love the way the Injen’s look and if they had heat shields they would be my top choice for the extra ~$400.

Seems like not many people run the BMS intakes. I got some ordered, when they come in, will happily toss out some pics, as well as my .02c on my butt dyno

They are very good bang for the buck, imho.

This is the closest thing you can get as far as an Injen Heat Sheild probably wouldn't do much though.

this looks like pretty much the same as the DIY shield

Who’s making DIY shields? Or are you talking about generic shielding like Spectre makes?

Alright, just read through pretty much the whole thread. Seems that Injen or DIY seems to be the general consensus on what to get.

Has anyone gone from DIY to Injen, AEM, JT, etc. to compare their DIY setup to a professional option?

Great Question! In general, the main reason I can see to go with an actual "professionally designed" CAI is for decent heat shielding...

DIY is just about the same as an Injun....knocked 2 tenths off my 0 to 60....what more could one ask for ? 90 bills verses 400/500 ? don't be foolish :) Wash

Thanks Wash! I saw in the 0-60 thread, you used to have K&N drop ins. Did you shave .2 seconds off compared to the drop ins or stock? And any idea what you're running now, 0-60?

Hey Mr. Tech
Shaved 2 tenths off the k&nd...Stungblue has a great mod that works as good as the injun...save the 400 bills for another mod....do the DIY....the car lights up the tires at 40 mph with map2 and the intakes....dont throw away good money.....:) Wash
Oh 0 to 60 4.43 sec map220190514_194207.webp

0 to 60 is not enough to entirely rate the impact on performance.

Maybe, maybe not. Injen has been making intakes for a long time, and design them with a specific curve geometry and variable tubing diameters - presumably using a flow bench. That can make a considerable difference at different RPMs, and may very well be a factor in how they perform. Their published dyno numbers are certainly impressive, and they look (and sound) good as well.

Money isn't the only consideration - otherwise I'd be running black stamped steel wheels for my winter tire set ... :p

Much as I'd love to have my azz kissed, I don't think I'll be at the Texas Motorplex any time soon. I just got back from a week's work in Desoto (outside Dallas), and the heat index was 108F/42C while I was there.

That's too hot for this pasty white Canadian ...
