Unfortunately it wont let me post images or links to them.. I have 5 time slips from the strip, 2 of which were on LC, the other 3 were from when I got ballsy enough to try the parking brake launch.. my best 60ft was a 1.85 and I'm positive I can shave another .03-.05 off with better throttle control.. my best with LC was 1.98. So it's still not a huge jump but at least it's a start
That is a significant difference; impressive thank you.

I edited it for you. Double check to make sure I got it right.

Seems like a great dragy launch method but I don't see how you stage if the car moves at all. Makes sense since the brake pedal switch isn't activated, and the results are impressive! Maybe in can drop my 1.83 60 down to 1.70 for an 11.6!

Im still trying to figure out what makes the car hold itself instead of rolling a bit before a hold.. Sometimes it will just stick without the couple feet roll and other times it has to roll a bit.. Anybody know if its possible to tighten up the parking brake?

I mean, if you're going to go through any trouble to mechanically change anything you might as well just wire in a brake switch bypass toggle which will basically do the same thing as this but not require using the parking brake.

This doesnt sound plausible. Not sure I'm buying this. Raining here or I'd try it.

Dont let a little moisture stop you from a good time ;)

We need someone with a JB4 to try this and log the boost at launch.

Can you confirm the exact steps I wrote above?

I will try this and report.

I will also try this at my next track event.

I am curious myself to see if it works. I think at the track this might hard to do if you cant keep the car still.

I agree with most. You cant stage properly if your car is rolling unless maybe you get the first amber and try it to gauge how much you will roll forward. Messing this up is going to hold up everything though as you will have now reverse find the proper spot and try again lol. Im sure those behind you or next to you wont be happy.

We drive Kia's, how big could our egos possibly be...not sure why so much drama! lol

It works. Also raining here, but my tires spun wayyyy faster from a stop compared to if I were to use launch control. I think it would be extremely hard to stage at the track though, unless we can find a way to make the car 'full stop' on command.

I agree I was thinking the same thing. Could be very difficult to pull this off at the track.

I still will try it thou.

RWD car checking in:

Going to try this. I’ve yet to take my drag radials off due to weather, but it’s nice and sunny today. Also, there will be some traffic in Mexico later that I may invite myself to if this works well.

I’ll post my draggy results later once I find a spot for a few hits.

I would not recommend this to anyone, Angel if you try it make sure to video tape.
Why do you say that? It's not like this is comparable to a neutral slam... I don't see how this would be any worse than launch control as the trans is still being loaded
