Device manager? You have to download the ek1 tool from sxth, then run the updater(the other program in the folder) then open the ek1 tool. Then go to your ek1 > system settings> pc communication> then click check for update> start update!
So after having the same prob for my EK1-Lite upgrade, i managed to get it working.
-download the tool again
-unzip it
-run the .exe first (like mentioned in the readme)
-it maybe auto download and update a windows sl tool
-run the install program again
After that, my EK1 said USB connected and i could run the upgrade.
yea thats right! you pull up to 1.5 in cylinder 3&4 which isnt bad. what fuel are you running? do you have cpi or meth injection? also when doing a log try to get a solid log pull with 3 shifts at about 5800-5900 rpm

Running Aussie 98 RON and E85 mix to E30. I will try and get a better log as you have suggested. I am keen to get Meth injection and ready to place an order I post on this forum today asking for advise on my next upgrade. Would you recommend Meth as my next upgrade? or Intercooler or HFC?

Hfc are pointless and so is a intercooler. I have an intercooler and wish i didnt waste the money. Hfc is only worth it if you want your car to be louder. Meth on the other hand if ran correctly allows your to go faster and go faster safer preventing cylinder pinging and keeping iat temps down! Next time you fill up bump up to e40
