EK1Pro Tune - Sixth Element

You have to download the EK1 PC update program under Device Update and than you have to connect your EK1 via USB Type-B to your Pc.

The update cant be done via sd card like before.

i don't see the drivers included, and my PC(win 11 pro) doesn't recognize the EK1 Lite.

Where did you get the drivers?

What do you mean with „drivers“?
The new firmware?
You only get this firmware over the program and with EK1 connected via USB.

device manager on your PC. when you hook it up via the usb port it needs drivers otherwise the app that gets installed doesn't recognize the EK1 lite

Device manager? You have to download the ek1 tool from sxth, then run the updater(the other program in the folder) then open the ek1 tool. Then go to your ek1 > system settings> pc communication> then click check for update> start update!

What does this exactly do?

Does it reset the wastegate issues that happen when you use the JB4 and EWG wires?
It resets learned values like ign…
The „EWG problem“ is written in the ECUs eprom so this problem has to be sorted out other ways…
So after having the same prob for my EK1-Lite upgrade, i managed to get it working.

-download the tool again
-unzip it
-run the .exe first (like mentioned in the readme)
-it maybe auto download and update a windows sl tool
-run the install program again

After that, my EK1 said USB connected and i could run the upgrade.
look at that post.
When i dif that again it auto downloaded and installed a windows tool. After that it knew my EK.

Nathan just told me that „he believes“ the new feature „Reset Adapted Value“ will fix the EWG problem!

same thing that i did except the tool doesn't see the EK1, and i have a T-DCAN device that needs a driver
 
Can you extract the driver from your machine, and possibly upload it?

it's working now. re-downloaded the setup from the sxth site. must have been corrupted

pretty sure you can only select 12 to log, but make sure you have all 6 ign values added to you data logs
Would this be Knock learning? No ing values in the selection, the only thing in the selection with 6 values was the knock learning. See log attached.

Do you see any issues with this?

yea thats right! you pull up to 1.5 in cylinder 3&4 which isnt bad. what fuel are you running? do you have cpi or meth injection? also when doing a log try to get a solid log pull with 3 shifts at about 5800-5900 rpm

Running Aussie 98 RON and E85 mix to E30. I will try and get a better log as you have suggested. I am keen to get Meth injection and ready to place an order I post on this forum today asking for advise on my next upgrade. Would you recommend Meth as my next upgrade? or Intercooler or HFC?

Hfc are pointless and so is a intercooler. I have an intercooler and wish i didnt waste the money. Hfc is only worth it if you want your car to be louder. Meth on the other hand if ran correctly allows your to go faster and go faster safer preventing cylinder pinging and keeping iat temps down! Next time you fill up bump up to e40

Good to know, I will bump it to E40 on the next fill. Just ordered a Meth kit, should be here next week.

that great news. Now do I just run the reset then turn on bit5 to disable the EWG wires?

Also can I move to Stage 2 tune since I have the meth kit? I'm currently using the BEF tune because of the EWG wires

Youd want to remove the ewg wires.

Yes, with meth you can run whatever!

simple enough to remove, and less wire clutter under the hood

this might be a dumb question, do I put the JB4 onto map 0 if I get the stage 2 from SXTH?
