Check this out!!! (ECS control module)

Some tips on installation

To get the side panel off you open the fuse box panel, put your hand in the opening and push the side panel out enough to get a gap and then you get a thin trim tool in the pop the panel out. Now remove the lower kick panel. There two screws on the side behind the side panel: one on the front door jamb and the other where the top right corner where the side panel was attached. Remove those. The last screw to hold the kick panel on is on the right lower side of the kick panel behind a small cover you remove with a pick. Once the screws are removed it’s a matter of popping out the panel. Lots of tabs holding it in so be patient and remember the OBD port and wiring is connected to the kick panel. Be cautious.

Now remove the lower steering wheel cover. First pop off the top cover behind the steering wheel. This gives you access to two screws. Each of the screws are only accessible if you turn the steering wheel first to the left and remove one screw and then to the right and remove the other screw, they are right behind the steering wheel. Now go under the steering wheel and and on the bottom panel there is a screw, remove it. Now you can remove the lower panel. It kind of slides out.

In the picture below you see three gangs of wire. Remove the tape on the right gang. The white wire, second from the right, is the 12v accessory wire - switched. There is a post previous in this thread that gives a link to a tutorial for which wire you should tap into - please go to that post, find the link, and read thoroughly before you begin. I’m not responsible here.

There are a couple screws or nuts to the left of the fuse box where you can attach the ground wire. As for where you connect the ECS connectors, right behind the steering wheel, on the bottom, there two or three connectors, but there is only one connector that will fit, pull it out put the connector in between and replug it back in.

Now turn the car on and make sure the green LED light on the ECS 10 turns on, if it is you’re ready to install which suspension set up you want from the app. Open up your app, go to the settings menu and connect to the ECS10. Once connected you will need to enable the software with a slide toggle in the settings menu. Make sure you route the wires neatly, I suggest small zip ties. I mounted the module to the back of the fuse box cover panel with double sided foam tape. Now go for a drive and enjoy. So far I find the sport option pretty good but it certainly isn’t the stiffest you can make it under the custom settings.

I’ll be interested in others set ups once more people start using this.

Great write up. Your instructions made the install super easy. Less than an hour. I taped the module inside the lower steering cover so its totally out of sight.

It's been a while since I have done any electrical work on a car and this ECS tuner box has my attention big time. Would love to see how you guys tap the wires, what tools or devices you use or recommend for this. From the photos, the wires look tightly grouped together. I think this should be easy to do but want to make sure I don't cause any issues doing this. I've seen the completed photos but none showing how the connection was made. Would love to see that. I am looking forward to doing this mod.

I used a posi-tap and it took seconds to install. Something like in the attached picture (I didn't take a picture of the actual install).
There was enough space to use it. Then I wrapped everything with a black tape.

Ok, that helps! Thanks! On the white or red is fine? The smaller one, not the large wires, correct?

Your Factory ECS is fully functional at all times, even when you set Comfort or Sport mode in the app, you still have two levels of that mode that are selectable with your regular drive mode switch by the shifter.
So you can have Comfort (App) + Comfort (Car) or Comfort (App) + Sport (Car). Or the opposite...
Sport (App) + Comfort (Car) or Sport (App) + Sport (Car). Very nice.

can someone explain this for me? So when the app is set to sport or comfort dies the mode switch override this or how does it interact with the mode switch?

I used the posi tap as well on the white wire. Took 1 minute. I was planning on using a fuse tap but i already have a fuse tap on the accessory power slot which blocks the second accessory power slot. Posi tap was much easier and there is already an in line fuse included.

I am not 100%, since I am still waiting for mine to arrive, but it SOUNDS like the mode switch adjusts the "base" setting up/down some amount from the actual setting you select for the module. Not sure if that means "comfort" is base and sport gets a little stiffer, or sport is base and comfort makes it a little less stiff, but that's what it sounds like from reading on here.

12 pages read and I believe I am sold ! what a great little piggyback invention !
did most of you used Ebay or a seller on here to purchase it ?

Massive thank you to @xot1

I have it ordered and do not have it yet either, but from the pages that I have read...it's seems to do what I'd think it would do. Just like @turboAWD stated, it takes the stock settings and firms them up. So if you move the dial to eco, it would take whatever stiffness is in that mode and make it stiffer (comfort on the app a little stiffer, sport on the app even more stiff). If you move the dial to comfort, it would take whatever stiffness is in that mode and make it stiffer (comfort on the app a little stiffer, sport on the app even more stiff). If you move the dial to sport, it would take whatever stiffness is in that mode and make it stiffer (comfort on the app a little stiffer, sport on the app even more stiff).

I'd imagine that of the canned modes within the app, that the sport on the dial and the sport on the app is the stiffest setting possible. I see that you can make your own custom setting and imagine you could make things even stiffer with your custom setting on the app. So... that's what I'm gathering form all these pages. We shall see when I get it. Very excited!! :coffee:

No need to thank me. I learn a lot here too.

The news would have made it here anyways, but as soon as I saw the first appearance of this device on korean sites I thought that you guys would love it so I rushed here to share the good news! (hence the title ... :D)

I remember that some member posted (a while ago) about how it would be gread if we could find a way to tune into the electronic suspension system. But not only this is possible now, but the fact that it is made by the same company that manufactures our stock suspensions, I thought "wow this is too good to be true".:geek::geek::geek:

I have tested the module thoroughly on the app modes (Sport and Comfort) changing factory modes too. The OEM modes work fine along with the Mando modes. for instance you can make the suspension less or more stiffen using the OEM modes but it is much better because of the selected module mode in the app.
Besides OEM modes does not only change the suspension but steering, throttle, power distribution between the axles etc.
I noticed that in the app Sport mode and the OEM comfort mode the car is very stable because it doesn’t distribute too much power to the rear. Generally the module is really a great device and raises Stinger handling to the new level without sacrificing ride quality.

Pretty sure the module just does the suspension, not throttle, shift or power balance. The app only mentions suspension.

yes, I was writing about the OEM modes we have built-in our Stingers which do that...that is why it is a good complement to the Mando module which controls only the suspension

I think you misunderstood, he was saying that the car modes still changes the other aspect of every mode. So sports still gives you sport steering regardless of having the app on confort for suspension.

Everyone should get this no question imo the modes works flawlessly - I was sitting in the back seat yesterday playing with the phone - instant changes on the fly and yes really appreciate the stock mode switch behavior too like Przemek!

Now the JB4 is calling damit

I have the feeling that JB4 is running better but maybe it is just a subjective feeling or the cooler weather... or maybe because of the better grip on the road...? Will have to check on Dragy with the Mando module on and off....

I believe that the tuner creates the illusion of more responsive acceleration and braking. After some testing, I've found that whenever brake drive and acceleration squat are reduced (via stiffer settings) that the car responds more sharply to brake and throttle inputs. A very nice effect.

Similarly, reducing body roll makes the steering response a bit quicker.

That was me! I'm in for this unit, need to make time to get it in before the switch over to winter tires. Work is just bogging down my free time.
