Took a chance and got a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe knob

Did you guys have to do anything special to make your shift button work?
The stock shifter button has that bar that rests on the C groove on the shift lever, the santa fe knob has a flat piece so it does not catch on the stock shift lever.
If I push the knob down all the way then it keeps the shift button permanently engaged, thus being a very large hazzard if the knob would ever be accidently bumped from Drive to Reverse/Park.
Did you guys have to do anything to make the i30/optima/telerude shifter not do this, or did it just fit the stock C grove in the shift lever.
