How tight are the bolts? Did you remove the front ones with a long extension?

The primary bolts required a 2 foot breaker bar to get them loose ($12 @ Harbor Freight) but could probably get loose easier with a standard ratchet w/ 4 inch extension and some PB Blaster or Sea Foam penetrating lube. I had the tool and was impatient :) The most frustrating part for me was bolting into the existing exhaust bracket (RWD) from the top instead of bottom which required a crescent.

Oh, just wanted to mention for everyone installing these downpipes... use the stock metal exhaust seals between the stock cats and whichever exhaust you're using to help seal the system. You will notice a different exhaust or acrid smell at first when you start the car and get it hot after installing any new exhaust components. That is normal. What you're smelling is the lubricant from the pipes manufacturing burning off and the different smell of exhaust in general from removal of the secondary cats, in this case.

is there room to get and impact gun in there to loosen those top bolts?? and do you need someones help to hold the downpipe while you torque down or line it up??

any more details on the install that can help, thanks for that information.

Honestly I'd pay $120 to have this installed. Not worth sweating in my garage for that price.

Yes you can do this with an impact gun if you have a ratchet extension. As far as holding the pipes up, they wedge in place so you don't have to hold them much (they are light). What I did was line it up to the mounting bracket first and loosely tighten those, then add the supplied bolts to the catback side, loosely tighten those, and at that point you should be lined up to torque everything down. You may have to do some aligning on the motor side but as long as you can somewhat line a round hole up to another round hole you should be good :)

Sorry, dont know where the black bolt goes or the mounting bracket since I have a RWD model. The 4 longer bolts attach the down pipes to the cat back portion of the exhaust. In the stock setup, the bolts are welded to the down pipe, since the SSR pipes dont have welded bolts, those are meant to replace them.

Those with AWD. Please post pics and explanations of how the AWD brackets are installed. Seems the install instructions are a little vague. My DPs are in transit now. If not posted, I will take some pics and explanations of the install.

Have you tried hanging them? Their instructions seem fairly straight forward to me and it may make more sense when you're under the car.

The 4 long bolts are for the rear connection to the exhaust as was posted above by Bal. My interpretation of their instructions is that the black bolt goes through the groove in their supplied hanger and bolts into the rear-most hanger hole on the passenger side of the car.

For the driver side you just re-use your stock hanger bolt(s).

My pipes won't be here until Tuesday so I can't be much more help until I get them on the car.
