• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Carbon bonnet.

Also sorry to learn about this but it's a hazard of driving. The dent will be relatively easy to get out (about 10 minutes work). I through you had "self healing" PPF so it should hopefully look better afer a bit of heat.
The dent guys advised it would take 2 hours and they will do some polishing
too, we put some heat from the hairdryer on it so hopefully it does heal a bit over the next few days.

2 hrs work for $99!!!! No way. The cost is reasonable but they're talking BS about the time. You should watch whilst it's done....so easy if one knows the procedure.

Think I will stay and watch then

OMG!! I want to kill someone, preferably the bloke in the white Ute going past in the opposite direction that threw a large stone and hit my Bonnet.( I know technically it wasn't his fault ) Suppose it was going to happen sooner or later.
Dent in bonnet and scuff mark on PPF.
Took it to 'Dent ' guys, it's booked in on the 20/12 to get the dent taken out- cost $99
He advised at least the PPF did the job or I'd have a big chip right there now.
Rang and spoke to Bon Vivant who did my paint protection.Asked if it was worth replacing PPF and sent him the pics.
Answer- to replace it would cost $700 and that's not charging labour for getting original off , he doesn't think it is justified.
He advised I may get more stones thrown up in the future and although a blemish is annoying because he knows she's my pride and joy he said I'd be better " living with the blemish " but he would replace if I really wanted to.
We will wait until dent out, it may look better then.

Awww crap...

No gooord unfortunately it goes with the territory. On the way to pick me up yesterday the wife tells me a Ute crossed three lanes and through a stone which has put a crack a third of the width of the Ford Fiestas windscreen. The chip was large.

Bugger Flame. Had a few hit my windscreen and make marks but no big ones on the bonnet. I have had a dent guy remove some small dings on my daily driver. They do a great job. Wouldn't even know there had been a mark there. I'm sure Sonic will be back as new soon.

Oh, no good

I have been driving Sonic unplugged again, sometimes as the car drops in gears it sounds like the exhaust does some burbling which is kinda nice.
Noticed some substance on the Bottom of one of the exhaust tips and on the diffuser, it looks like " black soot "
does anyone know what it is and is it okay ? Hadn't noticed it before when the Bimodal fuse is plugged in.IMG_2945.webp

That's usually a sign of air/fuel mixture being too rich but it wouldn't be uncommon to see a build up over a period of time. Mine has a slight blackening inside the tubes but nowhere as bad as yours. I can't say if pulling the plug has contributed to it as I don't know enough about the electrics.

Sorry to read this, Flame. I hope it's not noticeable once the work's been carried out.

That looks like just rain that has collected some dust/dirt and has pooled there. Water evaporates and dirt left behind??

It can be a combination of carbon/burnt fuel mixed with water vapour when the car is warming up, which in turn dries at the exit point of your exhaust, this can be normal.

Took Sonic to Aus Dent today. It took an hour, dent out and looks good but still scuff mark on ppf. It's something I will just live with.

At least the actual paint and bonnet are like new again. Thought the ppf was self healing or something like that.
