• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

They are the Mesh Vents to put in the front vent openings to stop stones, debris etc entering the vents but still allowing air to flow.
The person makes them and gives a set free with the purchase of a cap. I think you can buy them separately but I don't know the price.

Due to the fact I'm a curious person, I have a question;
The exhaust sound on cold start is really loud, is this due to more air being sucked into the engine initially as the car warms up ?
If you put in Air intakes does it make the engine more efficient and does it make it sound louder ?

The Bi-modal valves are fully open on cold start therefore it will be loud for a few minutes.
Intakes may make the engine more efficient but shouldn't make any difference to exhaust sound, although I'm not an expert on this.

Okay, so the only way of maybe making it sound louder will be keeping the Bimodal open. Some people on the face group have done it by pulling a bimodal wiring out of the fuse box but I'm not sure about messing with things.:confused:

Have a look in the fuse box on the lower front right below the air vent and you should see a thick red wire...that's where the power for bi-modal has been tapped in. I believe if you pull the fuse the valves will stay fully open (but I haven't tried it).

If your exhaust was connected from the panel in the boot then it may be different.

Thanks for pic @ShannonC,:thumbup: I might check it out, the one good thing if it's too loud can easily plug it back in :)

Bi-modal not loud enough for you Flame.
I like it but was always tossing up between it and the Borla. I like how the bimodal sounds in sport mode and start up.Some are pulling the fuse out so it sounds loud in all modes. Hubby thinks it's loud enough and our bedroom backs onto the back of the garage so I'm aware he is a shift worker and wouldn't want to disturb him unnecessarily. He shook his head at me the other night when I got in and started her up, I must have had a grin on my face :laugh:

My wife says the same thing. Loud enough. I would think you would have it in Sport all the time. I have mine in custom with everything in sport except suspension which I put in comfort.

I can understand that. Besides the kids would be put off with adult bedroom noise.:D
