• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

Although my Liberty is ~200kW ATW, I had a turbo Exa back in the day (imported CA18DET engine to replace the NA CA18DE the car came with) and my Stinger will end up more powerful again than the Liberty, there's still something to be said for a good high-revving NA engine - the 24v 2.8L VR6 engine in my Bora was a delight (the 3.2L version in the Golf R32 was even better), with a really linear power delivery that just built and built and built as revs grew (and sounded awesome with the right exhaust to boot). The connection between throttle position and power delivery on an NA engine can be really fun.

But yes, for me, turbocharging is the replacement for displacement that V8 drivers claim doesn't exist. :)
I was an ardent advocate of your last statement & with this being my first ever turbocharged car I’ll have to say it does exist, with the advancement in engineering & technology with these new engines + the fuel efficiency based on my old beloved V8 it’s a no brainer.
The only thing that cannot be replicated on these cars is that V8 exhaust rumble that we all love.

Do you guys attend car meets and cruises often? I'm thinking of attending my first one coming this 22nd, messaged some of the attendees and the organiser and they said the Stinger (even without mods) is a welcome addition for pictures and such

I go to a few meets, yes. They're fun - you get to meet some like-minded people, have a good chat and/or drive and/or meal.

Just be careful - some groups can be filled with immature prats who think driving dangerously on public roads is cool.

Note I didn't say driving fast is driving dangerously - there's a difference.

There is a Kia GT Owners Australia & Stinger Owners Australia on Facebook, we have had many meets & cruises, as with most States, with the last one held in March to the Hunter Valley in NSW the most successful for NSW so far.

Also FYI there are a few of us intending to go the the ACT next month for their first get together on 28th July.

I'm a member of KIA GT owners but Stinger Owners Australia isn't accepting me :(

Also how come you have no flag showing your location, are you using an overseas ISP.

No when I have flag showing it shows as USA for some reason. Maybe it's the VPN I'm using not sure.
That’s probably it.
