Nah, joined forum to find out more about the car, meet like minded people.Saved up some money to go towards the car because hubby wanted me to wait until the Stinger had been out for a year so any issues were ironed out.Now it's EOFY sales so he told me to hold off until now.
6years ago we bought the Optima new, it was the first model and then later Kia came out with a GT version which we would have liked.

See if you can get the dealer to set up the nannies the way you like it. There's that annoying lane assist you want to have turned off. The bloody steering wheel starts to argue where you should be going. :laugh:

Yes, that lane assist nanny was the first thing we thought of turning off, we noticed it in the test drive as we went on some winding, twisty roads and found it annoying

It’s literally the push of one button why would you need a dealer to set it up? Part of learning the features of a new car is working out how things work which button does what etc. If in doubt there’s a big thick manual to answer any questions.

Iv'e got the manual on my computer so been going through it so at least I will be somewhat more familiar tomorrow

To be honest it’s not that hard to work stuff out. If you get stuck, use the hard copy manual when you get the car because you can sit with it in the car and look at what you’re reading about. If you have an optima some stuff may appear similar. They’re not designed to be difficult

Got my Stinger today and boy is it an upgrade from the Cerato I was driving. I don't think I can go back to a normal non-turbo car after pushing the pedal on this thing. Such an awesome car.

Lol. That’s exactly what I said after my first drive. This is my first turbo and it blew me away. Although I was coming from an SS Commodore not a Cerato so I guess the upgrade is a bit more pronounced for you. :) Congrats.

Nice sounds like you got one custom made to what you wanted if it's getting shipped. I got the exterior colour I wanted (ceramic grey) but not the red interior I wanted. All good though for the price they needed to clear stock.

Although my Liberty is ~200kW ATW, I had a turbo Exa back in the day (imported CA18DET engine to replace the NA CA18DE the car came with) and my Stinger will end up more powerful again than the Liberty, there's still something to be said for a good high-revving NA engine - the 24v 2.8L VR6 engine in my Bora was a delight (the 3.2L version in the Golf R32 was even better), with a really linear power delivery that just built and built and built as revs grew (and sounded awesome with the right exhaust to boot). The connection between throttle position and power delivery on an NA engine can be really fun.

But yes, for me, turbocharging is the replacement for displacement that V8 drivers claim doesn't exist. :)
