Have not heard from the dealer. They told me 2 days so I will call tomorrow morning and see what is going on

Yeah, spoke to the local dealer about an oil change and changing out the remaining plugs and coil packs last week. Booked an
appointment and went to the dealer and they said they did not have the parts and that they needed me to pay for them
before they did the work. NOBODY said that when I was booking the appointment. So, after making arrangements to take the
car to them, I have to wait for them to get the parts in before we return a week later. Weird, that they don't have those parts
in stock. I dunno. Luckily, they did the oil tube recall correctly.

True, DIY for sure, at least you'll know it was done right, and you don't have to make an appt. w/ yourself WIN WIN I'd say.

This wasn't just a stumble; it is a full-blown, multi-vehicle pile-up of incompetence, a spectacle deserving of a gilded plaque in the Hall of Shame. And, as if on cue, Kia dealerships, in their seemingly boundless quest for new depths of organizational dysfunction, have once again delivered a masterclass in how not to run a business. A symphony of miscommunication.

Just sad and pathetic, probably ordered the kit but used it for another customer that they forgot to order the kit for a week earlier.

I have done many a tune up on a lot of cars over the years and I understand what you are putting down because there are

so many dealerships out there that are total trash. I just don't want to cross thread the spark plugs and if they do it is on them,

plus they have to pull the intake manifold and replace the gaskets and I am okay with it. The car has low mileage and isn't a

daily. We put 1500 miles since last August? After getting the rest of the stock coil packs out and replacing all the plugs and

intake gaskets will give me a clearer picture of how I would like to proceed. The car has 17k, so what I am doing is just getting

the car to run correctly as it has had a #2 misfire and I suspect that it suffers from the same 2018-2021 design flaw in the

coil packs after doing research. Had the #2 replaced (coil/plug) but still getting a mild misfire and audio drop outs which tells

me it still has the faulty coil packs which in turn crack the plugs and eventually can cause a CEL. So best to replace the rest

and get the car the way it was intended out of the factory. So, do I trust this dealership? Yes and no, did they do the oil tube

replacement properly, yes. Did they live up to there appointment that I scheduled, no. Shit happens and I am okay with

that. Going forward, more DIY for sure.

I use just a dab of anti-seize on the first few threads on the spark plugs, makes it easier to assure no threads getting crossed. Done that for quite a few years, I'd trust myself over the dealer for that

Five days of suspense? Why? I wouldn't leave my perfectly fine running car at the dealer for even ONE unnecessary day. Take it in on the day they are actually ready and waiting for you.

I just rec'd another notice...not confident in the local dealer...will call again to ask how many the've done and how long it has been taking them. You'd think there were more Stingers in upstate NY...

Can you elaborate on "worked with the technician"

Were they just holding your car hostage?

Electric cars are far, FAR less likely to catch fire.

…but when they do, they are much harder to put out.

I found that getting their courtesy car keeps them on schedule as they want it back almost as much as you want yours.

Swung by a few local dealerships to feel them out and ask about the recall, see how many they'd done etc (low volume car so guinea pigs are scarce) and to check if they offered a courtesy car. Some don't, some do but they're usually booked a month out.

All worked out in the end. Had to book 3 weeks out, but dropped my car off first thing in the morning, ran some errands in their EV, and got my ride back before closing.

For those in the Pacific Northwest. Kia of Everett did a great job on the recall for the oil tube. Just a

few hours and we had our car back. No problems after having the work done.
