Did the update erase any Favorite locations, POI's, entries on My Menu, etc?
I can't answer that because I use Waze and Google maps for storing my favorite places.

Not for the maps; for all the other tweaks and fixes.
Supposedly the software fixes are or will be made available as a free, standalone update, without the maps.
Sure--where, when, by whom? I keep hearing this, but see no evidence of it happening. I have already asked KIA and my dealer about it and no one I am communicating with knows how to do it... What is your source for suggesting this is real?
Wish I could say something definitive, but I can't, which is why used the word "supposedly." I'm also in the US, not Canada, so anything I learn isn't likely to apply directly to you anyway. Good luck to us all!
I need a map update. Recently, a version of "drive into the pond" was offered to me via my onboard maps and "begin navigation". I had checked Google Maps before setting out, so I saw the route according to them. The NAV said I would be making a left hand turn a block earlier than the Google route. Hmm! Did "they" put in a left turn access? I asked myself: because clearly visible on Google's "Satellite View" was a concrete center median planter box, making all earlier left turns impossible. I arrived at the spot where the NAV said, "turn left here". And sure enough, had I been a mindless moron, I'd have crashed over the planter box median and high centered and destroyed my car?! So, a map update would be nice. I'll have to ask my dealer about it. ...
Thanks! I did so. And I have an updated SD card on the way free of charge.Forget the dealer. Call the number FFR6288 posted above and have the nav update SD card sent to you. Thats what I did a month ago.

If you log into the UVO site - UVO Home - you will see your vehicle with a link: VIEW LATEST SOFTWARE. Click on that. Well, at least we'll have the latest errors and omissions available!Don't imagine that it will fix the problem. I just installed my update on the weekend and still riddled with errors and omissions. And I say "riddled" because if you can notice half a dozen to a dozen of them within the first hour or two of driving...
Hmmm, being in Canada I have the UVO remote start/etc. app on my phone. It does not have an option to check or update the software, but if you can download the latest software and/or maps from the Web app, everything prior in this thread can be ignored and forgotten.
It won't let me use the same e-mail address and login I have already used for the phone app. I suspect if I use a second address, it will stall when "someone else" tries to register the same VIN online as is already registered in the app.
What's the address for the Canadian one, and does it allow you to check software status and download updates like @Mark H claims the US one does?
https://www.myuvo.ca/ and nope no luck on checking software versions, at least that i was able to find
FWIW, Kia is still honoring the free maps/software upgrade for recently purchased Stingers, at least at the 855-542-7733 number. I bought my 2.0L Premium RWD on June 15, but it had the software from its Nov 2017 manufacture date. No problem, they say it should be on the way within 7-10 days.
